Job Description:

If youre a Loading Master with experience in ensuring the safe and efficient LNG berthing/unberthing, loading and all associated communication and documentation, then this role is a chance to develop your analytical and problem-solving skills whilst ensuring a performance culture that achieves Operations Excellence

Whats the role

The Loading Master ensures that the planning, scheduling, execution, review and feedback for all marine processes, and procedures which are related to these activities are carried out safely and efficiently

Some of the key deliverables and responsibilities for this role are as follows

Ensure internal vessel clearances are obtained, and that compatibility and pre-approval checks are conducted in preparation for ship loading
Provide effective ship-shore pre-arrival communication
Effectively interact with other disciplines and provide maritime guidance as needed
Communicate with the commercial teams to ensure schedules are met
Connect with shipping agent, Port Authority and Vessel Traffic Service as required and update Energy Component program daily
Complete demurrage reports and work with commercial and external stakeholders to minimise demurrage charges
Participate in marine incident investigations when nominated by the Marine Operations Manager
Provide guidance and participate in marine emergencies, as well as Oil Spill Response exercises in line with the companys HSSE plan Assist QGC in achieving goal zero
Assist the Marine Operations Manager with planning and monitoring QGC and cargo vessel movements within Gladstone harbour and conduct various Marine audits
Assist the Marine Manager in various projects
Assist in continuous improvement to achieve best practices


What we need from you

Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping (STCW) Deck Class 1 or 2 Certificate (Foreign Going) or STCW Eng Class 1 or 2 Certificate (Foreign Going) gas experience is an advantage
Sailing in a senior position on petroleum or gas carriers or other types of vessels
Ability to qualify for Gladstone Ports Corporation Authorised Officer designation and able to obtain an Australian Maritime Security Identification Card (MSIC)
Proven experience of marine contractor HSSE management activities and conducting marine audits
Fulfils criteria to obtain Offshore Vessel Inspection Database (OVID) / Ship Inspection Report Programme (SIRE) accreditation is desirable
Ability to negotiate and interact effectively on operational and technical marine matters

To be successful in this role, you will have well developed written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to convey information in a clear, timely and accurate manner using appropriate methods of communication Above all, youll have a preference for delivery, and continually display initiative in all that you do
