About the opportunity Department Description

The IM, ISFA & Enterprise Technology provides systems development, business analysis, architecture & engineering, implementation and support services for FILs Investment Management, Investment Services & Fund Accounting, Business Finance and several other business groups globally The department supports the business units catering to the entirety of FILs Investment Process for all asset classes in all of FILs international locations, including London, Hong Kong, Tokyo and Mumbai

Purpose of your role

This is for an opportunity in the Business Analysis team in Investment Management Technology Within IM Tech, this role is for DARS (Data Analytics and Reporting Services) DARS consists of Front Office Data Environment (FODE), CDW (Common Data Warehouse) and Discovery (Reporting application) These platforms serve as Centralized Data Services and go to source of data and reporting delivery within FIL for Front Office users in IM world (including Portfolio Managers, Analytics users, IM Risk team etc)

Lead Business Analyst is a key role within the team and the successful candidate will liaise with the various business and systems groups to assist the application development and support from India In addition, the Lead BA would be expected to contribute to the development of business analysis capability in India, provide thought leadership to identify functional innovation opportunities, resolve functional issues, impart business knowledge to the systems team members and contribute to the global Enterprise Systems community

Key Responsibilities

Identifying and documenting Business Requirements

Understanding existing systems functions and liaison with Business teams
Prepare or assist in preparation of Business Requirements documents

Translating Business Requirements to System Requirements Analyse existing systems and understand the business process and data required to support the same Build solution documents to support data acquisition, management and consumption for end consumers Liaise with internal system owners and/or 3rd party data providers to develop effective strategy for acquiring data Manage & mentor team of BAs and help build Analysis capabilities across multiple projects Review test plans and participating in system testing activities as per QA processes Support business in preparation of user test procedures and user acceptance testing Work with Project Manager to establish project plans and identify Risks & Issues impacting the project , particularly the Analysis stream Provide pre-implementation and post-implementation support to the systems and business teams May manage a small-to-medium-sized group of professionals directly or matrix managed through other business units while leading projects; provides supervision to business analysts in their analysis tasks by providing input as well as structuring deliverables Serve as mentor/coach to more junior business analysts on assigned program or within the broader Solution Delivery organization

Experience and Qualifications

7 - 9 years of IT experience in Financial Services preferably in Investment Management B Tech / BE or MBA (Finance) preferred

Essential Skills

7 - 9 years of IT experience in Financial Services preferably in Investment Management 5 - 6 years proven experience as a Business Analyst Exposure to structured software development life-cycle methodology (preferably Agile or Iterative development) & Production Support processes Experience of working with multi-cultural teams in a geographically diverse environment A good understanding of the overall investment process and data needs of investment firms Must have the ability to visualise data, understand data lineage and identify patterns within and across subject areas Basic knowledge of technology, third party products and their usage within Investment Management domain Must possess working knowledge of database technologies to query standard databases like Oracle etc Must be an expert in using MS Office products like Visio and Excel Nice to have skills include

Experience of working in applications for Fund Accounting / Custody & Settlement / Client Reporting area
Experience of working with 3rd party market data providers like Bloomberg, Reuters etc
Experience of working with BI / reporting tools like OBI, QlikView or Tableau
Experience of working in data analytics projects
Experience of re-engineering legacy systems
