Job Description:

We are looking for a Knowledge Expert - Team Manager (TM) to manage the day-to-day operations of LATAM based Knowledge Team (KT) The Knowledge Expert Team Manager will be expected to grow a cohesive team, with smooth transition of current KT and integration of new hires, at the same time maintaining close connections with the global Practice Areas The TM will be responsible for mentoring the KT, advancing the LATAM KT agenda with local leadership and consulting teams, line management and professional development of LATAM KT plus design and implementation of several strategic initiatives This is an important role which offers the chance to work closely with global colleagues It is a unique opportunity to strengthen ones management skill set and help shape the future of the LATAM Knowledge Team

This individual will also be expected to actively support client teams and contribute towards case work until the team reaches critical size, which may then warrant an increased focus on line management responsibilities


Strategy and planning Defines strategic priorities for the knowledge team together with LATAM KT node, LATAM PA nodes and Knowledge PA
Teams with other PA TMs to implement cross-PA strategic and operational initiatives, and goals for KT growth/development Develops resourcing plan for LATAM (capacity/role/location) in collaboration with RDE leadership team and KT HR teams

Business partnering and work management Accountable for KT engagement with the case teams & bringing the KT to business Creates and maintains appropriate channels for discussion around value delivery, expectation management etc with consulting team
Balance of utilization between case work, business development, content development and knowledge capture Appropriate discussion with local partners and PAs
Meets utilization and billability targets

Accountable for capacity deployment against BCG assignments for the knowledge team (approves analysts interaction and staffing/case team interaction)
Directs content/resource operations for the knowledge team (prioritize daily requests, allocate work based on team expertise)Leads/participates in initiatives to improve KT performance and service
Responsibility for overall quality of the knowledge teams end product
Promotes KT/best practice sharing/trainings to consultants
Navigates consultants to appropriate experts, topic knowledge, providing process guidance as needed

Team management Plays an active role in recruitment and on-boarding of KT members
Designs on-boarding schedule, provides day-to-day training and coaching for junior KT members
Supervises the long-term professional development of KT members
Evaluates performance and supervises career development plans for KT members
Drives and enhances collaboration and cooperation within the knowledge team
Manages the KT allocated training and travel budget

Client work support Executes and coordinates complex research requests across regions and practice areas
Provides analytical services and guidance (eg, usage and development of tools and methodologies)
Provides sophisticated synthesis and packaging of results (eg, Excel data manipulation, client-ready PowerPoint slides)
Supports BCG partners and principals on proposal, lead preparation and other marketing activities

Demonstrates and promotes citizenship in the local office


Education & Experience

Bachelors Degree with high academic achievement required; Advanced Degree Preferred
7 years of industry/research experience or 5 years in consulting experience
Line & project management experience
