Jacobs Space Exploration Group (JSEG) is comprised of 10 companies and is located at Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, AL (ranked #11 in Best Places to Live by US News) JSEG has been a primary contractor for NASA since 1989 and supports marquee NASA programs, including the Space Launch System, International Space Station, space optics fabrication, earth and space sciences and advanced propulsion system development As a partner in NASAs next generation of space exploration, our jobs are literally history in the making by challenging today, reinventing tomorrow

We are looking for a self-driven Subcontract Administrator/Procurement Professional to provide Jacobs Space Exploration Group (JSEG) support in purchasing, subcontract administration, as well as the administration of Government Property


Process Purchase Requisitions to produce Purchase Orders Notify departments when funds are insufficient; and work collaboratively with departments to resolve issues
Monitor Purchase Orders from inception to delivery of goods and services
Prepare and maintain a variety of files and filing systems; prepare, maintain, and update various records; verify information as requested
Responsible for maintaining all records retention management for Purchasing
Obtain Quotes and maintain vendor files
Assist in composing, reviewing and verifying a variety of memorandums, correspondence, reports, public notices, permits, forms and documents as assigned, including bid specifications and bid addendas; research and verify information as required
Maintain, administer and monitor subcontracts
Support Government Property administration by tracking, reporting, and controlling Jacobs controlled government property Support administration of Jacobs subcontracts
Work independently in collecting, developing, preparing, and editing documents, reports, and presentations for senior level review and approval
Provide inputs to requirements documents and contractual documents
Support the development of monthly contract financial deliverables such as 533M
Other duties as assigned


BS degree in Business Administration or a related field and a minimum of 2 years of experience (or any equivalent combination of education/experience for a total of 6 years)

The selected candidate should also have

Knowledge of negotiation techniques, FAR and Procurement Regulations, and Cost Accounting Standards associated with Government purchasing
Strong sourcing and quoting skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to communicate effectively with peers and all levels of management
Proficiency in Microsoft office
Excellent analytical skills and ability to prioritize and meet schedules in a multi-task environment

Experience with task order contracts
Experience with implementation of automated purchasing systems to include system requirements definition, testing, training, and system documentation

Physical Requirements

Office environment Requires ability to provide clear, concise, accurate and timely communication, both verbally and in writing (100 PERCENT ) Requires ability to interact professionally with co-workers, management, and client (100 PERCENT ) Work may involve sitting for extended periods (80 PERCENT ) May require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs Must have sufficient mobility to enter areas of test facilities where necessary

Work Environment

Generally an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on task (100 PERCENT ) Requires ability to use stairs or elevators for access between floors and multiple buildings at NASA and Jacobs facilities (10 PERCENT )

Equipment and Machines

Requires ability to operate a personal computer, a telephone, fax machine, copier, calculator, and other general office equipment (100 PERCENT )


Normal workday is from 730 am through 430 pm, Monday thru Friday Regular attendance in accordance with established work schedule is critical Ability to work outside normal schedule and adjust schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements when required (100 PERCENT )

Must be able to work in a team atmosphere Must put forward a professional behavior that enhances productivity and promotes teamwork and cooperation Grooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety risk/hazard to the employee or others (100 PERCENT ) The ability to work independently with minimal supervision, to make rational decisions, and to exercise good judgment is essential (100 PERCENT )
