Business Unit Description

The Nuclear New Build (NNB) team are the Programme Management Partner for the Client at Hinkley Point C (HPC)

This dynamic Team provide support to Buildings & Civils

Project Management & delivery of Building and Civil Work on the main construction site

1 Conventional Island

2 Balance of Plant

3 Nuclear Island

Specific work packages include

1 Earthworks

2 Main Civil Works

3 Marine Works

4 Heat Sink

5 Project management & co-ordination of multi-disciplinary team to deliver scope

Client Overview

Hinkley Point C (HPC) is a nuclear site, based in West Somerset, 15 miles from Bridgwater The NNB ambition is to build two major EPR nuclear plants

The first new nuclear power station to be built in the UK in over 20 years; Hinkley Point C in Somerset will provide low-carbon electricity for around 6 million homes, create thousands of jobs and bring lasting benefits to the UK economy

Construction and operation of Hinkley Point C will create 25,000 employment opportunities, up to 1,000 apprenticeships and 64 PERCENT of the projects construction value is predicted to go to UK companies There are currently over 3,100 workers on site

Marking a significant milestone in the revitalisation of our nuclear power industry, Hinkley Point C will make a major contribution to the UKs move to reduce carbon emissions The electricity generated by its two EPR reactors will offset 9 million tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions a year, or 600 million tonnes over its 60-year lifespan

Role Outline/Responsibilities

Role Overview

The Inventory Management Lead will be responsible for the delivery and implementation of equipment storage including the supporting policies and procedures associated with the examination, inspection goods receipt and maintenance during storage to ensure compliance Industry Standards

As part of the Site Operations Team the Inventory Management Lead will be responsible for the specific arrangements that will support the inventory management requirements of the HPC power plant assets during storage

Nature and Scope

The reliability and availability of the equipment and components are to be stored and managed in a

condition that is compliant with the design specification and manufacturers recommendations

This is a critical element of the HPC project, and delays to the availability of equipment may result in a significant construction, schedule and compliance risk

The Inventory Management Lead will be responsible for engaging with NNB Service Provider who will operate the NNB Warehouse for Free Issue Equipment The arrangements will support compliance of examination, inspection and maintenance of delivered and stored equipment in line with Nuclear Site Licence Condition 28

A significant contribution will be made to nuclear safety by ensuring equipment

reliability measures are carried out during the transportation, storage and handover to the erection

contractors, including the lifetime record tracking in line with LC6

The Inventory Management Lead will manage the efficient delivery of Storage and Warehouse services in accordance with all safety, quality, time and cost parameters to meet the needs of the HPC construction project

This role will be required to support the execution of the Warehouse Service employing a competent team to supervise and control storage activities at HPC to store and manage 3billion worth of Free Issue Equipment It will entail the recruitment of staff and contractors and ensuring that these individuals are suitably qualified and experienced to meet the needs of the project

Leadership of the team will combine technical knowledge with project delivery skills

A significant function of the Site Operations team will be to support the future safety case process by delivering information to enable national nuclear and environmental regulatory requirements to be discharged

Main Accountabilities

The specific arrangements developed for equipment storage will form part of the overall lifecycle

arrangements which will cover equipment receipt, storage and preservation in line with Industry

Standards

Support the contract management of the Storage and Warehouse operations contract

Provide planning, management and supervision to deliver safe and effective inventory

management for HPC assets to support compliance with Configuration Management in line

with Industry standards
