About the role

The Head Performance Management Hub is a key position within the Reinsurance Financial Planning & Analysis (Re FP&A) department managing the support of the global FP&A and regional FP&A teams by providing insightful analyses on all aspects of the financial performance of the business unit Reinsurance (BU Re) This entails the enabling of the performance analytics and financial analysis through sourcing various internal and external data sets, maintaining a tactical data environment, performing financial analysis, supporting the plan process, and building out the scope of the analytics performed

The position holder reports directly to the Head Reinsurance FP&A

The incumbent manages and leads cross-functional teams of data scientists, data managers, and financial analysts that work closely with colleagues from FP&A teams globally A key aspect of this position is building-up the newly founded hub for financial performance management while fostering the use of technology that help driving innovative analytics for business steering The Head Performance Management Hub has to comfortably interact with senior stakeholders from Finance (Head Reinsurance FP&A, Regional CFOs, Regional FP&A Heads, Head Accounting & Reporting, Head Finance IT) and other internal functions (Business Management, Products/ UW, etc), and manage the demands and requests posed on the hub in a lean and effective way

The core mandate of the Head Performance Management Hub includes

Refine the performance hubs vision statement and employee value proposition (EVP)
Support the Head Finance Reinsurance Bangalore Hub in developing and maintaining a sustainable operating model and an inclusive high performance culture to ensure quality and efficiency
Seek alignment with local leadership and actively support the team leaders on process improvement and operational excellence, including support for communications with senior management
Build-out high performing team, combining required skills and capabilities to deliver on the Hubs vision, EVP, and road-map
Stabilize existing performance reporting products and projects, establish SLAs and dedicated product and change management
Improve portfolio of analytical products and services, launch next wave of new products (eg, portfolio steering support, forward-looking modelling)
Refine mid-term roadmap of products, and plan out respective infrastructure and talent / capability management
Strengthen tactical data and analytics infrastructure, in collaboration with Finance IT, Costing IT, Group MDM, Risk Management
Drive FP&A performance measurement standards, inform and refine governance (from data sourcing to performance report production)

Build out link into adjacent functions in the local community (eg, product development, actuarial, analytics teams, economic research, business development

About the team

Re FP&A drives sustainable performance as Performance Architect and Commercial Advisor of the BU by creating transparency on the financial performance, driving performance strategy, enabling resource & capital allocation, supporting performance initiatives, and providing commercial advice Within Re FP&A, the Global Performance Management Hub is an integral part and supports the global FP&A functions through data management, performance analysis and reporting, and forward-looking modelling

The Head Global Performance Management Hub is a key role within an agile and driven team, providing the opportunity to build-up and manage cross-functional teams combining a strategic mind-set, ownership of the performance analysis supporting the steering of the business unit Reinsurance, and developing an understanding and fostering the exploitation of various internal and external data sources for a fact-based analytical performance management

About you

Overall 10 years of experience in managing multiple cross-functional teams
Excellent command of spoken and written English
People leader inspiring, engaging, developing, and retaining talent, experience in building high performing teams
Strategic and commercial mind-set
Process and delivery mind-set striving for continuous methodological and operational improvements using a systemic approach for build and operate
Operating well in matrix setup; strong sense for community and always seeking collaborative approach

Strong problem solving skills, eg consulting background, self-starter attitude, able to solve problems and develop solutions

Intellectual curiosity with eagerness to better understand insurance business and its economics
Understanding of reporting processes, experience in a Controlling or Finance department
Qualification University degree in Engineering, Math, Physics (or similar)
Actuarial qualification considered a plus

Re/insurance expertise considered a plus, (eg reserving, risk, finance)
