JOB PURPOSE

An opportunity exists for a highly motivated and organised individual to join the Group Sustainability team to support the Bank s community investment and sustainability operations

The role will provide invaluable financial, accounting and management support to help deliver the Bank s Community strategy via fundraising for the Standard Chartered Foundation and Bank s direct donations


CONTEXT

The post holder is responsible for supporting the financial management of the Standard Chartered Foundation as well as to support other community engagement programmes with financial data, budgets, year end and KPI reporting

The Finance Manager will work under close supervision of the Director Operations and Governance to support the effective administration and operational oversight of the Sustainability team cost centre budget


Duties and Responsibilities

Under the immediate supervision of the Director, Operations and Governance the Finance Manager will perform the following duties


Standard Chartered Foundation specific

Record monthly SCF fundraising income from overseas and UK sources into the relevant accounting system

Record all relevant P&L and Balance Sheet entries related to SCF

Reconcile all relevant BS ledger accounts; revalue relevant BS accounts in line with the SCF financial management policy

Set up grant and other SCF payments online

Monthly preparation of the management accounts consisting of Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet and Cash flow Statement

Preparation of financial reports and review presentations for management and relevant committees

Perform all Salesforce administrator duties (grant user access, develop user manual, coordinate technical queries with Salesforce developers)

Upload any NGO partner data into the Salesforce or similar system

Ensure SCB branches fundraising activities and financial reporting are in line with UK Charities Commission rules, SCB policies and procedures

Work closely with all fundraising countries & departments to provide support with interpretation of local laws

Be relationship holder with third party fundraising portals like Just Giving, CAF, CAF America, Charities Trust, Virgin Money etc

Preparation of audit files for internal and external audits

Maintain Donation Libraries in close collaboration with relevant IT team

General team

Ensure the Sustainability team adheres to all the Bank s financial and administrative rules and practices including compliance with policies, procedures and systems

Assist team with obtaining TPRM assessment and vendor onboarding

Assist with structured budget planning process which will include coordination, preparation, submission and revision of Group Sustainability annual operational plans with local and global NGO partners

Assist in preparation of senior management Sustainability MI reports as appropriate

Purchase Order requisitions

Accruals, prepayments & journals ongoing compilation and monitoring of relevant expenditure items for Group Sustainability cost centre

Maintain accurate computerised and manual financial records within agreed procedures

Secondary Functions

Support Group Sustainability Senior Management with community investment governance framework

To undertake any other project duties and responsibilities as requested by senior managers

To provide cover for other staff during holidays

QUALIFICATION, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND BEHAVIOURSLevel and type of formal education

University degree in economics, business administration, finance, management or a related field

Fully qualified accountant, preferably ACCA or ACA

Knowledge

Excellent understanding of accounting practices with demonstrable experience in managing financial and management accounts, year ends, complex reconciliations, forex exposures

Good experience of using various accounting software

Good understanding of how the Bank operates globally, including structure and processes

Expertise in managing budgets across multiple countries and jurisdictions

Desired experience with accounting for fundraising

Desired experience working with NGOs and understanding of the financial capacity and constraints of NGO partners

Desired understanding of SORP

Desired experience working on international programmes and projects

Skills

Strong project management disciplines, including ability to organise project planning and tracking

Strong communication skills - both written and verbal, and ability to effectively target different internal and external stakeholders

Uses knowledge, communication and relationship skills to positively influence key business decisions

Literacy and numeracy skills
