Global Customer Data Steward

Reports to Director, Global Customer Data Management

Job Purpose

The Data Steward is responsible for strategically managing assigned data entities across a specified portion of the enterprise and ensuring high levels of data quality, integrity, availability, trustworthiness and data security This role is responsible for establishing consistent data definitions, maintaining business and technical rules, and monitoring and auditing data quality Training and rollout of methods, process, and controls to stewards in each region is key Operate as SME to support these teams

The Data Steward emphasizes the business value of data, fosters the goal of data re-use and articulates the significance of information to the organization The Data Steward does this with the Company business model in mind, ensuring that data across the enterprise supports reporting and surplus distribution to our provider partners Other responsibilities include but are not limited to

Serve as the primary contact for all questions throughout the data life-cycle relating to the data definition, its use, related processes and policies, and quality

Work as part of a team dedicated to maintaining and enhancing the overall usefulness, integrity and data security of data across the enterprise

Work as part of a customer journey team identifying the key moments of truth of a lifelong learning journey - reinforce and champion automation efficiency for data capture and management

Perform data quality checks for each data source system

Resolve definition, business rules, system of record, business process, access, policy and other integrity issues on a case-by-case basis

Document data issues that cannot be resolved directly and escalate them to the Data Governance Council for resolution

Help to foster a culture of discipline where operational, business and software decisions are made with consideration to their impact on Companys data assets

Ensure KPIs/metrics are communicated, understood, maintained relative to major stakeholder and user of data - advocate an approach to decisions based on KPI trends

Perform and direct analysis of large data sets for decisioning and insight that impact business outcomes

Qualifications

5 years of experience

Deep knowledge of business acumen/customer associated business processes that use/consume/create data

Strong analytical and project management skill

Strong problem-solving skills

Strong Communication Skills

Success working and leading in matrixed environments

Agile / Design Thinking experience
