Calling all passionate pet people Make an impact on the future of pet food by joining our innovation team in the Pet Segment, a high-growth, top priority category for General Mills! We are building the GCI Herd at Blue Buffalo and are looking for a new Buff to continue our trajectory of growth through innovation! The GCI Associate Manager for Blue Buffalo will lead the discovery of consumer, cultural, category, and competitive insights to identify opportunities and inspire brand strategy with a strong focus on innovation This individual will work as a part of a cross-functional innovation team to develop and refine total product offerings using Pet Parent / Consumer First Design

This role provides unique opportunity for

Development of all GCI capabilities, but in particular Consumer Passion and Advocacy, Robust and Modern Research Skills, and Impacts Business Decisions
Exposure to several Career Experiences including Segment/OU, Matrix Relationship Management, Multi-Business, and Corporate

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Proactively identify business challenges and address using insights-centric solutions to deliver actionable insights
Work independently to design and implement research to uncover insights that drive business growth
Manage several moderately complex projects concurrently
Synthesize knowledge across many data sources to identify and communicate the most compelling insights that will lead to business growth
Be the voice of the pet parent / consumer, ensuring that the entire cross-functional team is empowered to make pet parent / consumer first decisions
Contribute to the on-going establishment of the Consumer Insights function at Blue Buffalo by providing functional expertise as needed
Expected travel will normally be one week a month with additional ad hoc travel as needed (roughly 25 PERCENT travel)

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelors degree in Marketing, Market Research, Statistics, Mathematics, Data Analytics, Economics, Anthropology, Sociology, Psychology, or another related field
2-3 years of experience in Consumer Insights with foundational understanding of Innovation/Consumer First Design
Experience working with interdependent cross-functional teams in a highly dynamic environment
Ability to synthesize data to build and tell a consumer story with credibility
Exhibits a bias for action
Successfully navigates ambiguity
Passion for cats and dogs
Ability to travel as outlined above

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

MBA or Masters Degree in related field
2 years supporting Innovation
Expertise in a variety of traditional and modern qualitative and quantitative research techniques, specifically for innovation, communication, branding & packaging
Experience leveraging Consumer First Design to help team progress from Where to Play through all phases of CFD to product launch
Prior experience in management of research agency relationships
Strong cross-functional navigation skills
