Position Summary

Jacobs is looking for a talented, motivated Geotechnical Engineer to support our practice in the South Central Geography (Texas and Oklahoma) This position would engage with Jacobs Global Technology network with focus on dams/levees, tunneling, foundations, retaining structures, excavation support, and/or other geotechnical areas

Provide geotechnical support on multiple projects within and beyond the South Central Geography
Support positioning and sales efforts on projects related to expertise
Manage small to medium projects and tasks
Plan and support exploration and laboratory testing programs
Prepare drawings, technical specifications, and geotechnical reports
Design instrumentation monitoring programs
Perform 2D and/or 3D stability analyses
Perform 2D and/or 3D seepage analyses
Develop settlement estimates
Perform seismic analyses
Design ground improvements
Prepare technical reports
Occasional travel required

Qualifications

MS and/or PhD in Civil/Geotechnical Engineering, or BS in Engineering/Geology and commensurate demonstrated geotechnical experience, is required
Registration as a professional engineer and/or geologist in the United States is required
Ability to register as a professional engineer in the state of Texas within 1 year is required
4 years of professional experience is preferred
Dam and levee design and analysis experience is preferred
Foundation design experience is preferred
Knowledge of dam safety standards is preferred
Strong computer skills are required including Microsoft Office applications and some pertinent technical engineering software
Excellent analytical skills are required
Strong technical report writing skills are preferred
