Origin Consultants Pvt Ltd an Executive Search Services Company has been retained by a One of Indias largest corporate houses to identify General Manager Purchase And Contracts to be based at Mumbai

As General Manager Purchase And Contracts you will be responsible for the following

Direct the development and implementation of key procurement strategies and ensuring that strategies are aligned with organizational objectives
Vet contracts/agreements for purchase of capital equipment, project purchase, maintenance contract etc considering commercial as well as legal viewpoint
Responsible for all commercial and legal aspects of all the bids and responsible for day to day management of the commercial team working on a bid
Utilize strong negotiation skills to maximizing the value of investments while minimizing risk and liability exposure
Determine the appropriate source selection for technology, infrastructure, services, supplies and equipment, considering their effect on cost competition, performance and advantage
Develop contract plans, select and qualify contractors, oversee the bid process, execute contracts, and negotiate changes and disputes on large projects
Work closely with the Project Management Office, Project Engineering Department, construction management firms; Facilities, Maintenance and Finance departments to ensure all project / budget requirements and schedules are met
Vendor Evaluation and Development Activities on the philosophy of treating vendors as Partners in Progress
Leading, motivating & developing the managers, officers and staff to give their best and ensure various targets including Cost Reduction targets are achieved
Provide expert contractual and commercial advice to senior management and represent the company in significant contract negotiation and customer interface

Desired Candidate Profile

15 to 25 years experience in Domestic & International sourcing
Experience in handling, exim and commercial functions in any engineering industry
Ability to handle materials function independently
Should have knowledge of administration, customer communication and should have leadership qualities
