Job Description:

Major duties and responsibilities includes but are not limited toLead construction projects from the initial conception to completion and inspect contracts for compliance and recommend acceptance of contract to the Chief/Assistant Chief Engineer Must exercise a high degree of flexibility in adjusting to interruptions, revisions, extension of project scope, redesigns, and other pressures so that a project is finalized without exceeding the deadline, keeping Chief/Assistant Chief Engineer fully informed of project status Inspect completed contract work prior to acceptance to determine compliance with contract; make surveys before expiration of the guarantee period of such work, and write technical reports on Engineering findings, recommending any corrective action needed Conduct special studies, write reports and recommend courses of action These actions frequently affect budget, planning, maintenance, and repair of facilities systems and equipment, labor utilization and work methods Participate in the various Engineering Service meetings with the Chief and the Assistant Chief of Engineering Service and others on coordinating the planned engineering programs, job and project priorities, target dates, material availability, and the maintenance of proper stock levelsThe incumbent should be familiar with AUTOCAD and other design software to create, review, and implement appropriate engineering plans
