Job Purpose

Full time position for a Senior Vice President (C14) within the Legal Entity Reporting department located in Citigroup Centre, Canary Wharf

Primary purpose of the job is to manage the CGML (Broker-Dealer) Legal Entity Reporting team within the UK Controllers group ensuring accurate and timely reporting of CGMLs financials and supporting CGMLs board of directors CGML is Citis international broker-dealer

Additional responsibility is to oversee reporting teams in London, Mumbai and Manila

Job Background/context

The Department

CGML is a UK regulated broker-dealer vehicle The department is responsible for all aspects of the entitys financial reporting and the role involves being the primary contact point for the vehicle as well as advising CGMLs branch controllers and EMEAs smaller broker-dealer vehicles

The teams wider role also encompasses the understanding of the entitys profitability, the businesses that use the vehicle (both onshore and offshore), supporting firm-wide initiatives such as the ICAAP and facilitating senior management decisions regarding the vehicle based on ad hoc value-added analysis

The Role

An opportunity has arisen for a dynamic, driven and self-motivated individual to head up Legal Entity Reporting for CGML, Citis international UK-based Broker Dealer entity This will involve monthly reporting of the entity, ensuring that we understand all of the drivers, variances and issues that have arisen during the close process There will be projects and process improvements to reflect the changing reporting environment both internally and externally Such changes will also be required to ensure a best in class control environment in line with the ARA/MCA framework In addition, training and support of the teams in London, Mumbai (LEM team extension and financial reporting team) and Manila (intercompany derivative and non derivative reporting) will be expected

Key Responsibilities include

Monthly review and reporting of legal entity financials including business commentary and key drivers for P/L and B/S This includes full accountability for accurate results of the entity, through a process of challenge and having a full understanding of the businesses that book and utilize the entity
Responsible for data integrity and handling of the month end close process;
To put in place a strong governance process around monthly and quarterly reporting including submissions to Corporate Regulatory Reporting (CRR)
Monthly presentation of legal entity financials to senior management including UK CFO, Governance Committee and as required to the Finance Leadership Team This also includes the preparation and presentation of board packs to the board of directors, UK CFO, UK CCO and senior management;
Using the ARA/MCA framework to maintain and develop a best in class and appropriately documented control environment for processes around legal entity reporting; This would include enhancements to control files, improving systems and raising the necessary fixes via IMRs and CAPs;
Overseeing the teams in London, Mumbai and Manila;
Responsible for providing accurate and timely information to other stakeholders such as Statutory and Regulatory Reporting;
Involvement with internal and external audit as well as contributions to year end and interim financials
Other key deliverables and contributions include the following

- Annual ICAAP and quarterly refresh process
- Solvent wind down
- Profitability analysis and returns metrics
- Assisting in the reduction of EMEA entities

There is regular interaction with other departments within Finance; including but not limited to Product Control, Balance Sheet Control, Tax, Regulatory and Statutory Reporting and Financial Planning and Analysis; and
Interaction with other LEMs globally, the US corporate reporting team and other US controllers will also be required

The successful candidate will be ACA qualified (or equivalent) and have an understanding of the products booked on the entity as well as good business awareness and business acumen Citi experience of the products, businesses and processes will prove invaluable

Extensive experience within Finance is required
Understanding of businesses and financial products processes highly preferable
Proven leadership skills;

Demonstrated ability to meet reporting and project deadlines

Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages, particularly Excel
