Job Description:



Accountability Supporting Actions

1 Business Risk assessment and plan for Asset Maintenance

Anticipate Business risk and Establish and ensure implementation of predictive and preventive maintenance (Mechanical, Electrical & Civil) systems and control for maximum availability of plant and equipment within budgeted cost to meet production requirement
Aligning maintenance, safety and production priorities
Critical analysis of unscheduled downtime to minimize the same
Coordinate with production head for critical jobs
Coordinate with stores and purchase for timely delivery of critical spares/equipment
Coordinate with Head (F&C) for development of vendors

2 Efficient use of Fixed cost and Capital Cost - Repair & Maintenance and Project cost

To ensure maintenance of equipment and continuously bring down R&M cost to bring down fixed cost
Anticipate and plan for budget in consultation with respective department and obtain approval
Periodical review of cost and consumption to reduce maintenance cost and control the same by taking timely corrective action
Monitoring and control of deployment of all types of labour forces to ensure all activities within budgeted norms

3 Fixed and Variable cost reduction - Formulate and implement cost reduction strategies in plant maintenance and energy consumption

To develop strategies for cost reduction for Plant maintenance and energy cost reduction
Conducting in - house / outside party energy audit to identify potential area Prepare and implement return based schemes for their implementation
Coordinate with heads of production and process control for implementation of cost reduction plans
Monitor all cost reduction plans and highlight slippages to user Department and Unit Head
Identify areas to improve maintenance quality and reduce costs, and ensure implementation of these plans

4 Audit planning

To develop maintenance Audit Plan and organize maintenance audit to gauge the efficacy / prevailing system
Coordinate with Central Technical Cell and / or any other agency for conducting maintenance / energy audit Highlight the variance to the Unit Head and initiate suitable modification in the system

5 Inventory Management

Develop system for inventory control to ensure adequate inventory of spares
Monitor indent raising to allow only required and to be immediately consumed items on receipt

6 To ensure availability of consumable in stores and at work site

To secure the availability of consumables to reduce inventory carrying cost
Periodical review of site and stores inventory to keep them under control
To select and place order on genuine parties to avoid rejection

7 Systems Management

Guide and provide resources for effective implementation of Business Excellence and all relevant Integrated Management Systems like ISO - 9001, SA 8000, ISO 140001; review and monitor progress
Ensure the team gets exposure to new developments in systems
Industrial Relations

Establish systems and procedures for maintaining congenial industrial atmosphere
Review and monitor the laid down procedure to take corrective action

8 Peoples Management

Identify skill gaps and suggest training needs
Implement agreed action plan for improving Vibes, Team Vibes and our VOICE scores
Plan for career development for direct reports and suitable rewards

BE Mechanical Experience of 18 - 20 years

Minimum Experience Level
16 - 20 Years
