Summary of Responsibilities
Reporting to the Front Desk Manager, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following

To greet, welcome and farewell guests pleasantly and professionally

To complete the registration process by accurately verifying, inputting, and retrieving information

To promptly answer the telephone and respond to all guests inquiries with accurate information

To be familiar with SMI, all the facilities and services offered

To be timely, accurate and courteous during all interaction with guests

To maintain current and correct posting of all charges

To close guest accounts at time of checkout with assertion and satisfaction and in the event of dissatisfaction, provide guests with a positive experience/solution

To be knowledgeable regarding all guestrooms and suites

To do each Front Desk procedure accurately, consistently and completely

To become familiar with daily events, times and locations within the hotel

To become knowledgeable of hotel outlets and services offered to include hours of operation

To work closely with bell staff to ensure smooth arrival and departure of guests

To keep uniform neat and clean and be well groomed in accordance with SMI policy

To be punctual and have excellent attendance

To be safety conscious

To take good care of hotel and guest property

To perform cashier audit completely and accurately

To adhere to cash activity and house bank agreement

To handle guest requests inquiries and complaints in a pleasant, professional and accommodating manner

Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Proficient in the English language (verbal & written), second language is an asset

Must be able to handle a multitude of tasks in an intense, ever-changing environment

Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times

Previous customer related experience an asset

Previous PMS experience an asset

Computer literate in Microsoft Window applications an asset

Must be able to type 25 words per minute

Must possess a professional presentation

Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities

Highly responsible & reliable

Ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced environment

Ability to work cohesively with fellow colleagues as part of a team

Hospitality Diploma is an asset

Must be flexible in terms of working hours

Must have the ability to handle cash effectively and accurately

Physical Aspects of Position
Physical aspects of the position include but are not limited to the following

Frequent standing and walking throughout shift

Occasional kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting

Occasional ascending or descending ladders, stairs and ramps
