Summary of Responsibilities

Reporting to the Director of Front Office, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following

Consistently offers professional, engaging and friendly service
Be familiar with all policies and procedures relating to the Front Desk, Security, Reservations, Royal Service, Guest Services, Health Club, Housekeeping and Night Audit

Communicate through pre-shift logs, emails and departmental meetings all pertinent information for the respective shift and areas of operation

Assist guests regarding hotel facilities in an informative and helpful way
Be completely knowledgeable with all Emergency procedures and ensure that they are kept current and adhered to in all areas
Respond to Emergency situations as required following established procedures
Coaches and mentors the Overnight Team including Night Guest Service Agent, and Security Agents
Liaise with other departments to ensure the smooth management of operations, including Accounting with the balancing of accounts
Complete endof-day, and balance day accounts for the Accounting department
Maintain accurate records of daily transactions, and prepare posting of adjustments and revenue write-offs
Ensure that a high level of guest satisfaction is achieved at all times and that complaints are handled efficiently
Harvest a co-operative team spirit amongst staff by listening, giving positive feedback, monitoring and following up with all staff members
Actively participate and promote The Fairmont Chateau Whistlers environmental program and department specific initiatives in working towards sustainable operations
Follow department policies, procedures and service standards
Follow all safety policies

Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Previous experience is an asset
Passion for guest service

Excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal and leadership skills

Highly organized, results-oriented with the ability to be flexible and work well under pressure

Degree or Diploma in Hospitality Management is an asset

Fluency in English

Minimum of 1 year previous proven supervisory experience

Must have the ability to handle a multitude of tasks and Guest requests

Knowledge of Micros-Fidelio Property Management System an asset

Should possess or seek certification in basic first aid

Strong guest service orientation and training skills background required

Ability to work independently and prioritize responsibilities

Experience with a Hotel loyalty program an asset

Computer proficiency in a Windows environment (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Visa Requirements Must be legally eligible to work in Canada
