Position Summary

Responsible to the assigned supervisor Work with other craftsman or crews in the performance of assigned work duties Coordinates work/inspections with facility managers/occupants Must be able to troubleshoot and identify problems Researches and requisitions materials, and prepares necessary documents and reports Makes necessary repairs to fire alarm systems, fire suppression systems and their components for compliance with specifications Responds to emergency repair calls to restore operations upon notice during regular hours or after duty on-call hours Valid State drivers license NICET Fire Alarm level II certification

Major Job Activities

Description

PERCENT of Time Spent

Inspects, troubleshoots, tests, installs and modifies Fire alarm control panels and associated devices

40 PERCENT

Accomplishes periodic inspections, recurring maintenance requirements and associated documentation Maintains systems to conform to written guidance and applicable changes

40 PERCENT

Maintains required operating forms and records and assures proper use of all assigned shop equipment Responsible for on-the-job training as required

10 PERCENT

Performs quality assurance through job site visits

5 PERCENT

Perform other duties as assigned in accordance with contractual, functional and mission requirements

5 PERCENT

Material & Equipment Directly Used

Vehicle, Hand and power tools, radio, phone, test equipment, shop and construction equipment

Education/Certifications One year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required
