Our Wholesale business helps communications providers (CPs) and other organisations provide fixed or mobile phone services Our ventures provide mass-market services like directory enquiries and payphones, and enterprise services including Fleet Solutions and BT Redcare We also offer specialist enterprise services to our Internet of Things customers

This role will play a critical role in managing the optimisation of capital spend for Enterprise to support delivery of budgets and the MTP In addition, this should be one of the roles at the forefront of the transformation agenda, supporting change and delivering against an ambitious Cost Transformation agenda

Also, this role will be crucial for holding the business to account on its key investment programmes and initiatves including supporting PIRs and IRS, ensuring financial benefits are delivered and ensuring learnings are passed back into the business and actioned

What youll be doing

Directly business partner with the Commercial unit and specifically the Transformation Directorate
Manage the capital reporting and planning analyses for Enterprise
Ensure consistent principles are applied in all business cases delivered throughout Enterprise
Improve the impact, and understanding, of financial reporting on performance of the unit
Drive delivery of Cost Transformation initiatives and develop and innovate to create new opportunities to optimise EBITDA
Build programmatic approach and rigour across all the key investment and transformation initiatives
Track delivery against key dependencies/interventions in the business, and manage the level of risks and opportunities
Support and deputise for SFM, Investment and Transformation
Accounting Understands and consistently applies an intermediate understanding of financial statements and accounting principles in relation to business processes
Reviews teams work (if appropriate) and analyses for appropriate accounting treatment, completeness and accuracy
Financial Analysis Gives guidance and insight to apply variables during the process
Provides insightful recommendations to improve business performance
Validates, challenges and presents key assumptions, model outcomes, conclusions, risks and opportunities
Develops business cases based on input from their business unit(s) and other relevant teams
Forecasting, Planning and Budgeting Identifies, understands and challenges the risks, assumptions, drivers and interdependencies
Ensures team adheres to the budget timeline
Understands longer term trends in the market and macroeconomic factors
Specialist - Anticipates BTs risk across the business and plans for appropriate insurance

Key Skills

Senior Stakeholder experience and working within matrixed environments Experience of working with Commercial teams to deliver the unit financials
Understand the way to evaluate and negotiate the commercial aspects of contracts***
Ability to interpret financials into meaningful insight, to inform decision making
Be willing to voice an opinion and look at the art of the possible Able to create a clear vision, delivering against key metrics
Demonstrates a high level of analytical capability
Preferred

Understands the Telecoms industry with good product knowledge
A track record of effectively influencing the stakeholder requirements from both a BT or EE (company strategic priorities) and external perspective
