Job Description

As a Financial Controller (a key member of the senior management team) you will be responsible for the following

Provide decision support, including risk evaluation, capital expenditure, business development, corporate finance, regulations, compliance and company growth
Serve as the Financial Controller of the Power Projects Division whose duties include the development, analysis and interpretation of the accounting records and information and to appraise the operating results in terms of costs, budgets, policies of operations, trends and increased profit possibilities
Develop and implement measures and procedures to ensure the business of the company is conducted with integrity at the highest level of control, efficiency and effectiveness
Maintain executive responsibility for the financial operations, including working capital, capital expenditure, debt levels, taxation, budgeting and general accounting
Develop and direct financial plans that align with the strategic business plan to ensure company growth in line with market opportunities
Ensure all financial statements, cost data and management reports are prepared for the company
Assist all executives and managers in appraising their activities in terms of financial results, pointing out significant trends in operations as indicated by analysis of the reports and assist the executives in determining future policies based on applying sound business judgment to the conclusions deduced from such analysis
Analyze current and future business operation and plans to determine financial effectiveness
Manage the finance team to ensure all controls are regularly checked and verified and all accounts functions are performed to a high standard
Develop the team to ensure that they have the skills to clearly understand the companys objectives and perform their duties in line with those objectives
Properly record, duly authorized, financial transactions ensuring that accounting policies and procedures comply with and support the adoption and implementation of the relevant SOCPA (Saudi Organization for Certified Public Accountants) and IAS (International Accounting Standards)
Ensure the integrity of the companys financial records through the completion of full balance sheet reconciliations on a monthly basis
Provide support in the areas of bid and tenders for new business using appraisal techniques
Ensure that an effective budgetary control system is in place and oversee the efficient administration of the companys capital budget
Cooperate with the internal and external auditors in the execution of their program of independent audits Manage the external audit process and ensure that the audited financials are completed within an acceptable timeframe
Ensure that there is a perpetual appraisal of the internal control systems and to enact revision where necessary, curtailing inefficiencies while minimizing risk and ensuring the integrity of financial operations in all locations This includes systems to ensure completeness of Rental Income
Initiate, prepare and issue standard practices relating to accounting policies and cost procedures as are necessary to ensure that adequate accounting records are maintained of all assets, liabilities, and transactions of the Company and that suitable systems are followed in compilation of product and administrative costs
Develop, review and implement procedures for handling cash and property so as to protect the Company from loss through negligence or dishonesty
Develop office methods and cost programs to insure that accounting and related records are maintained at the lowest possible expense to the company
Ensure the continuous adequacy of staffing at all levels in the Accounting Organization and the recruitment, training, job rotation, and development of accounting staff
Be an integral part of project team, looking to improve financial reporting and modeling within the Group
Review the current financial reports in conjunction with management for relevance and prepare suggestions for changes to include Cash flow, asset utilization and asset pipeline information
Continually review the cost base and report on areas of potential cost savings
Review and establish a comprehensive costing system within the company to capture costs by project with regular monthly reviews
Review the system requirements to fully automate the Invoicing and costing process
Regularly review the records of rental assets to ensure adequate control exists over movement and storage of such assets Implement a procedure of test checking
Review the accounting processes within the company to ensure best practice is maintained
Carry out any task as assigned by the MD or Director F&A
You will supervise the Head Office Accounting Team and the Regional Financial staff

Desired Candidate Profile

CA, CPA, CMA, CCA with 8 to 12 years of varied accounting and business analytical experience in a senior management role
Hands-on experience in managing system improvement and change management
Exercise sound judgment regarding control standards
Be able to dispense credible and practical advice when requested
Exceptional communication skills (spoken and written) Team-building and leadership skills; in addition to strong inter-personal skills
Understand and appropriately handle employees, control, audit, reporting, systems and business analysis
Possess and exercise sound analytical and problem-solving skills
