Job Description:

Design, development and production of value add Management Information reports for the Global CDS team (monthly reports, adhoc reports, forecast and budget)

Accountable for timely, accurate and credible production of scheduled and adhoc MI reports and analytics, leveraging SAP BW and Business Objects

Custodian for Planning processes and support Cost Reporting managing multiple reference data systems

Key participant and representative of MI Team in various client and internal team meetings

Change agent on applying appropriate technology solutions to facilitate effective and efficient report production administration of the Cost Planning (Budget & Forecast) System for Investment Bank and Wealth Management

Maintenance of the Business Planning and Consolidation

Client and relationship management

What will you be doing The candidate may be required to carry below activities, not limited to any of the following

Delivering end to end changes to BPC, from conducting impact assessment to technical delivery working closely with tech partners

Develop a range of tactical and strategic solutions to support the wider project deliverables

Excellent stakeholder & project management skills

Good understanding of Barclays systems and cost landscape, data flows , ledger interfaces

Ability to analyze and visualize end reporting requirements into structural changes in reference data systems for strategic implementation

Track record of completing business analysis assignments (business requirements gathering & testing)

Proficiency on reference data management tools like DRM, RDM, Sap Static, BW, databases


Produce accurate, timely and reliable MI reports (monthly reports, adhoc reports, forecast and budget)

Drive the rationalization, standardization, centralization and control of all MI reports within the suite

Update and improve reports (in line with business objectives) focusing on scalability, efficiency and effectiveness

Provide technical solutions / support to MI lead with emphasis on data extraction / manipulation / reporting using EXCEL, ACCESS, SAP BW, COGNOS, QLIKVIEW, VBA and BUSINESS OBJECTS/ BPC


Convert data into powerful actionable insight, analyze data and provide powerful story on key drivers

Maintain the BPC (Planning System) (not limited to security, enhancements and quality checks)

Provide regular client engagement to ensure clients are using the system to its full potential

Provide and develop regular value add analysis and exceptions reporting on key cost drivers

Utilize the system to construct and drive ideas which could lead to cost savings for Barclays Examples include; Cost per Head analysis, analysis of the spend patterns for the main cost types, understand trends, seasonality and outliers which will assist in forward planning and more effective cost management

Support management in carrying our the Cost Control Strategies, Cost Transformation Projects and Vision

Team management

Manage team work load, be accountable for ensuring the highest level of delivery and execution, balanced with excellent client service

Coach fellow team members to help develop their skills, and ensure knowledge is shared throughout the team to eliminate key man risk

What were looking for

Post graduate qualification in a numerate/information discipline desirable

CA and/or MBA (Finance) with a strong academic record

Experience in Financial Reporting, Control, Planning and/or Analytics

Barclays data and/or analytics experience a distinct advantage

Highly motivated self-starter and Strong planning & organisational skill

Personal and Interpersonal Skills

Confident and assertive manner Develops relationships and manages stakeholders expectations professionally

Displays integrity, initiative, commitment and credibility through interactions with colleagues and clients

Works well in a team and maintains good relations with team members Shows enthusiasm and diligence and ensures team motivation is optimized

Technical Knowledge

Continually striving for process improvement

Extensive knowledge of SAP BW, QLIKVIEW or BUSINESS OBJECTS and strong understanding of MI systems and processes would be an advantage

Understanding of the range of products and services within the firm and the ability to apply this to reporting requirements

Control Environment

Ensure adherence of team control requirements

Escalates risk and opportunities appropriately

Has the mindset to strive to identify potential control breakdowns in process, also demonstrated with effective procedure manuals

Skills that will help you in the role

Has the initiative and ability to break down problems into components parts and resolve them Can solve problems effectively and creatively

Assist the MI lead in coming up with innovative, creative and scalable solutions An understanding of the business cost drivers, project delivery, an ability to fully utilize the financial systems and available data is required

Good influencing and negotiation skills Candidate will help the MI lead manage the relationship with Finance Business Partners, Business COOs, Projects and IT to ensure effective delivery of MI support to these stakeholders This will include negotiating MI enhancements, report decommissioning and managing delivery with available resources
