Supervisory Responsibilities

This role will directly and indirectly manage the software engineering team in the Center of Competence (COC) group The software engineering design team consists of approximately 350 software engineers and architects in the vehicle interface microcontroller and digital signal processing (DSP) domains located in Bangalore, India

Essential Responsibilities

Direct and lead a global team of Software architects, Software Requirements Engineers, Software Integrators, DSP Architects, and DSP Engineers in the development of automotive audio amplifier products
Plans and directs personnel resource allocation to the customer product and the platform teams
Manages resource levels and determine if outside resources are required to complete planned workload Manages selection and usage of outside resources to meet project deliverables on-time with zero defects
Maintains engineering staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting and training employees Supervises engineering personnel through coaching, planning, monitoring, and appraising of job performance
Establishes and owns the processes/tool chain strategy for the development, integration, and release of software
Establishes key KPI to enable project monitoring for the software development functions
Provides software Leadership to audio programs to ensure deliverables are met on time, within budget and meeting customer requirements and expectations
Maintains engineering standards by establishing and maintaining policies on software design standards Identifies and implements methods and practices that improve effectiveness of teamwork, and maturity of software development
Coordinates introduction of new technologies from the advanced development or systems departments into new product designs
Continuously investigates new technology opportunities and plans for evaluation and integration into product designs
Ensures appropriate design tools and computer hardware are available, maintained, and capable of operation at the highest efficiency
Coordinates resource allocation with other software departments
Works on annual department budget, head count, capital tool planning, and other administrative duties
Provides software escalation point for software-related process, tool, resource, and product issues This role is the champion for software to the rest of the product development organization

Basic Qualifications

REQUIRED Specific Knowledge, Expertise, Coursework
Software CoC lead shall have knowledge of all software development principals and practices, ability to develop and present technical data, resolve internal and external conflicts, negotiate and resolve customer issues, communicate and motivate employees, conduct employee reviews and hire talented employees
Leadership of projects to meet strict deadlines
Self starter and self motivated
High level of leadership skills
Good interpersonal skills and can interface with peers
Technical expert in hardware and software development
Compliant to all processes and policies

REQUIRED Degree and/or Training, including specifically defined educational equivalent
Bachelors degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering

PREFERRED Certifications/Licenses
Masters degree or PhD, Executive training course, Program management course training, or PMP (Program Manager Professional) certification

REQUIRED Specific Prior Experiences
5 years management experience
12 years experience in developing and/or leading the development of software

Desired Characteristics

REQUIRED Degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering
PREFERRED Master Degree in Business or Advanced Engineering Degree

Willingness to travel 15 PERCENT of the time

Willingness to submit to a background screen and a drug test
