Brief Posting Description

We are seeking a Director, Site Reliability Engineering, who will be responsible for supporting and improving Enterprise class SaaS software and excellent customer experience This role will extensively work with Senior Management, Cloud Engineering, Performance Engineering, DevOps teams and external stakeholders to grow and lead the Development Organization in India

Role Expectations

As Director of Site Reliability Engineering team in Oracle CEGBU development organization, the expectations from the role would be

Grow and lead SRE, Scalability and Performance teams
Work with globally distributed engineering, product, operations and senior leadership teams in order to solve complex problems with our multiple SaaS offerings
Architect solutions for a mix of platforms including Kubernetes, Docker, Elk, CI/CD pipelines, Chef, Ansible, Puppet
Bring to bear multiple SRE techniques including first-in-class monitoring, incident review, documentation review
Lead deployment of multiple SRE tools including tools like Prometheus, Oracle Monitoring Cloud Service for monitoring, Chaos Monkey and similar tools for Failure Injection testing
Build and strengthen Performance and Scalability team and testing processes to proactively resolve performance, scalability and stability issues in our Cloud offerings
Lead development of KPIs and Dashboards measuring KPIs that reflect Saas health
Hire, Develop, upskill and mentor a strong team of architects and engineers
Display strong technical expertise in Java/J2EE and HTML5 based Saas platforms
Use Agile methodologies and formal development practices to plan, execute and develop product improvements

Qualifications

BE/BTech degree in Computer Science or equivalent from top Engineering Institute
Minimum 15 years experience in Software Product Development
Minimum 8 years experience in leading and growing large technical teams
Minimum 5 years experience managing and supporting SaaS platforms globally
Proven expertise in building applications with robust architecture, design and development of multi-tenant SaaS products, focusing on high scalability, availability and extensibility
Excellent interpersonal skills, good with people, ability to negotiate
Possess and demonstrate strong written and oral communication skills

Detailed Description and Job Requirements

Manage a team that designs, develops, troubleshoots and debugs software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc

As a director of the software engineering division, you will apply your extensive knowledge of software architecture to manage software development tasks associated with developing, debugging or designing software applications, operating systems and databases according to provided design specifications Build enhancements within an existing software architecture and envision future improvements to the architecture

Assists in the development of short, medium, and long term plans to achieve strategic objectives Regularly interacts across functional areas with senior management or executives to ensure unit objectives are met Ability to influence thinking or gain acceptance of others in sensitive situations Demonstrated leadership and people management skills Strong communication skills, analytical skills, thorough understanding of product development BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area 7 years of software engineering or related experience
