Manage a team within the Hardware Quality Management Systems group that owns and drives Data Analytics for all of Oracle hardware, both on-premise and in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) datacenters This team sources data from a wide variety of corporate sources as well as multiple big-data telemetry streams from our cloud fleet and creates high value analytics used by multiple stakeholder organizations throughout the company

As a Director of Software Engineering focused on data and analytics, you will apply your background in data engineering, software architecture and DevOps experience to manage projects that improve our existing solutions and develop entirely new systems

Build enhancements within an existing software architecture and envision future improvements to the architecture

Assist in the development of short, medium, and long term plans to achieve strategic objectives

Regularly interact across functional areas with senior management or executives to ensure unit objectives are met

Influence thinking and gain acceptance of others in sensitive situations Demonstrated leadership and people management skills

Strong communication skills, analytical skills, thorough understanding of product development and server hardware

BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area

7 years of software engineering or related experience

Were looking for a hands-on leader with strong management experience to lead a team responsible for three aspects of Hardware Data & Analytics first, strengthening our customer relationships, especially with OCI hardware-focused service teams so we deeply understand their pain points and KPIs related to hardware quality; second, supporting critical operational needs across the company; and third, unifying our architecture and building new predictive machine learning applications

As a Director of Software Development in the data and analytics space you will own and manage a team of data and software engineers, as well as statisticians and data scientists You should be experienced and comfortable with traditional relational data warehousing and business intelligence approaches as well as big-data and machine learning applications Experience with server hardware and data center operations is a distinct plus

Basic Qualifications

7 years of experience with data-focused applications development and/or data warehousing

2 years in large scale distributed application and/or streaming development

DevOps experience a must

Bachelors in Computer Science, Engineering or related fields, or equivalent experience

Preferred Qualifications

10 years of experience

Development experience with Java, Scala, Python and/or SQL

Experience with server hardware and data center operations

Masters / PhD degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related fields
