Job Description:

The role holder is responsible for ware house / depot management, secondary transportation of the product and ensuring on time delivery to customers The role is the first point of contact for the customer, for any issues related to logistics and on time delivery of the product

Strategic Responsibilities

Operational Responsibilities

Logistics Operations

Plan secondary transportation requirements from the depot, based on the logistics plan for the region
Coordinate with transport vendors and Logistics team, to ensure on time delivery to the dealers / customers / institutions, as applicable (for example, communicating delivery requirements to transporters, route planning, tracking of deliveries)
Ensure despatch adherence to FMFO/LMFO principles, as per procedure
Supervise packing, loading and unloading of materials at the depot / warehouse, as per appropriate guidelines (for example, packaging requirements, safety guidelines)
Coordinate for Intra Zone transfer of products, based on inputs / approvals received from the concerned stake holders (for example, Zonal In charge)
Ensure batch wise stacking of products and control of physical stocks at the depot / ware houses, as per policies and procedures
Ensure rectification of batch mis-matches in the depot / ware houses, as per guidelines
Monitor stocks in the depot through regular stock-taking, as per specified timelines and guidelines
Track stocks nearing expiry and ensure disposal of these stocks, as per guidelines

Complaints Resolution

Ensure resolution of customer queries and complaints regarding product delivery (for example, delayed delivery, damaged products, expired products, packing issues),

MIS / Reporting

Provide MIS / reporting to the Manager, as required (for example, delivery status, pending customer complaints, cost data, compliance update)

Audits & Compliance

Monitor and ensure compliance to safety requirements in all depot / ware house activities (for example, stocking, packing, loading, unloading)Coordinate for completion of audits for depots / warehouses, as per specified timelines and guidelines (for example, Quality audits, Financial audits, Customer audits)
Provide response to audit queries and implementation of remedial actions, in coordination with the concerned stake holders(eg Logistics, Zonal Accounts / Controls)
Monitor and complete license / process renewals on time , as per government regulations (for example, pesticide / fertilizer license)


Manage administrative expenses for the depot
Ensure accurate updation of physical stocks / stock reconciliation details in the company ERP portal (for example, Branch Connect), as per procedure
Provide support to the Zonal Accounts / Controls team for with accounting operations related activities(for example, maintain lorry receipts, good receipts, certify of bills, share copies of bills and invoices, follow up for supporting documents from vendors, coordination for resolution of queries related to transport bills)
Implement identified improvement projects for warehouse management and secondary transportation, in collaboration with the concerned stake holders (for example, storage improvement, delivery adherence, cost savings)
Lodge Insurance claims for transit & in-house damages of stock

Financial Responsibilities

Monitor administrative expenses in the depot / warehouses, and ensure adherence to approved budgets
Provide inputs to Logistics team and the Regional Incharge, in planning and managing secondary transportation costs (for example, estimated freight charges, actuals)
Implement cost saving projects in the depot / ware houses to achieve targeted cost savings (for example, packing cost, manpower cost, secondary transportation cost)

People Responsibilities

Attend trainings on training needs identified or imparted by HR to enhance performance

Education Qualification

Graduate in any discipline Additional Certification in Supply Chain management / stores management / warehouse management is desirable

Work Experience

2 to 5 years experience in handling stores / warehousing activities; working with secondary transportation logistics vendors

Industry to be Hired from

Any Industry
Agro Chemical / FMCG / Pharma industry experience preferred

Functional Competencies

Knowledge of SAP
Knowledge of Warehousing Processes
Knowledge of vendor management
