Customer Success Engineer at Empirix Kansas City, KS

Empirix is a fast growing, multi-national technology powerhouse providing state-of-the-art Service Quality Assurance solutions for comprehensive Customer Experience Management (CEM) and end-to-end communication analysis of Mobile Broadband and IP-based communications systems The Empirix suite of products and services detect quality and interoperability performance issues in 3G/4G/5G Telecom and Enterprise networks - Mobile Broadband (MBB), LTE, Video, VoIP (SIP), and Unified Communications

In this role, you will be a key member of the Managed Service Team for a Tier 1 Service Provider This includes having a full understanding of the charter for the Managed Service and supporting the delivery of multiple projects within the Tier 1 Operator This includes provides solutions to complex, high-impact business problems from project requests through implementation of integrated solutions and/or infrastructure services The role requires a person that can work as part of a team covering multiple work streams that will include system administration, configuration, provisioning, fault resolution and incident management, 3rd party management, system health management, capacity management, user training, system documentation Daily tasks might include working with the user to help them use the tool(s) and get more value through best practice use Collecting user requirements to feed back into Empirix Product Management for enhancement support; implementing, configuring and testing solutions at the customers facilities; customize Empirix products to meet the customers business requirements; creating/implementing custom data monitors for the purpose of gathering and displaying customer specific information; performing end-to-end testing of all aspects of the customers communications infrastructure

The ideal candidate will have great client communication skills, is well organized, and can prioritize effectively Success in this position will require a positive attitude, great time management, strong work ethic and a passion to build great relationships internally and within strategic clients

Responsibilities include

Utilize SQL skills and visualization tools for data analysis, reporting, and dashboard creation
Gather, document, understand customer requirements, collaborate with customers to provide dashboard, reporting and analytical solutions
Implementation and Installation skills mainly in a Linux/Unix environment with ability to work with customers off and on site to facilitate the installation and configuration of Empirix hardware and software
System Administration, Configuration and provisioning
Incident management from identification to closure
Working in Linux to configure baseline network settings and testing network components for accessibility
Installing packages on Linux and validation of successful package deployment
Assisting in cabling Server equipment and network hardware to include UTP and Fiber Optic installations
Troubleshooting network issues to include all layers from the physical connection to the logical connection on both the Empirix and customer ends
Maintain projects from inception through to final delivery

Work independently with minimal supervision

Qualifications and Experience

7 years of Telecom vendor and/or operator experience
Experience technically rolling out projects across multiple technology platforms preferred
Strategic Thinking Ability to translate complex and sometimes conflicting business goals and objectives into strategies and plans, demonstrating good judgment and financial acumen
Communication Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and concisely, and across the business
Hands-on experience with the implementation, configuration and monitoring of carrier-grade equipment
Working-level knowledge of VOIP architectures and protocols (SIP, H323, MGCP, H248)
Working-level knowledge of Mobile Circuit Switch / SS7 Core protocols (ISUP, MAP, CAMEL)
Working-level knowledge of TDM networking (T1/ISDN/SS7, etc)
Working-level knowledge of video and adaptive streaming protocols
Level 1 Triage Skills and Incident Management
Excellent troubleshooting and problem solving skills
Experience in dealing with multiple simultaneous priorities
Self-directed, self-motivated, professional services traits - excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
Proven track record in expanding knowledge of networks and network architectures
Experience with network monitoring technologies and SNMP protocols
Experience with Windows Server 2008/2013 and Linux platforms (RedHat, CentOS, Suse, etc)
Familiar with applications such as WireShark, Putty, SFTP and WinBatch
A sound knowledge on SQL, and ETL (Extract Transform Load) techniques
Experience with telephony and telecommunication network concepts and architecture
SIP Protocol and Call Flow knowledge (CDMA, LTE, VoLTE) is a plus
Experience with programming / scripting languages (conditional logic)
Basic understanding in web applications and HTML HTML 5
Familiarity with basic hardware and software networking concepts (TCP/IP, CompTIA Net )

Extra Credit

Expert-level knowledge of VOIP architectures and protocols (SIP, H323, MGCP, H248)
Expert-level knowledge of Mobile Circuit Switch / SS7 Core protocols (ISUP, MAP, CAMEL)
Expert-level knowledge of Mobile Networks (2G, 3G and 4G)
Expert-level knowledge of Mobile Broadband protocols (user plane and data plane)
Expert-level knowledge of TDM networking (T1/ISDN/SS7, etc)
Working-level knowledge of video and adaptive streaming protocols
Experience with Analytical and data visualization tools such as Micro Strategy, is a plus
Experience on Big data technologies such as Hadoop, HDFS, Cloudera Data Hub Environment is a plus
Experience with database technologies and architecture such as Relational, Columnar and/or In-memory
LTE, VoLTE, IMS architecture and protocol level knowledge is a plus
Familiarity in technologies like Hadoop, HDFS, Cloudera Data Hub Environment is a plus

Travel Requirements Minimal to 10 PERCENT
