Purpose of the Role

This role requires the individual to deliver successful and appropriate customer/business outcomes by ensuring the unit is efficiently planned, operating at optimum capacity, managing operational escalations, disputes and risks, leading E2E process re-engineering/automation initiatives to maximise efficiency gains, collaborating with support functions and ensuring engagement and development of the people

What the Business does

This process involves the handling and processing of routine transactions of trade finance related documents Professionals are required to enter and check details as received from various sources with great deal of accuracy The transactions are Complex as they require the professionals executing them to have the knowledge and operate within a large set of rules The Completion of the transaction requires medium to high decision making abilities Omission/mistakes may lead to financial liability An illustrative list of this process may include but is not confined to the following processing of Inland Bill Discounting, Bill Collection Remittances, Bank Guarantee, processing, checking and verification of import & export Letters of Credit/Letters of Guarantee, Import/Export settlements, factoring services

Your Responsibilities

As a CS&O Unit Leader, your key responsibilities will be

Experienced professional in supervisory role, responsible for leading & motivating a large team of associates with the objective of achieving service delivery targets
Responsible for making variety of business decisions, some complex in nature, predominately affecting own area of responsibility
Operates largely independently within set guidelines, but managerial guidance available if sought
Accountable for results of team efforts by maintaining workflows and quality standards and meeting deadlines

Sufficient work experience/job knowledge to enable the analysis of principles and concepts
Required to maintain effective internal/external client/user relationships within own area of responsibility

Conducts performance appraisal and identifies training and developmental needs for assigned team
Deliver all team activities in accordance with approved procedures and service level targets are achieved
Utilise resources optimally, reducing costs, increasing productivity
Develop and execute the plan in place for effective training and accreditation
Understand what the customer/business thinks and feels by actively reviewing key performance indicators (eg NPS / BrokerScore / Working Together Survey (WPS)) for the team to identify trends and take timely action to address areas of improvement
Approve and maintain up to date process documents contribute to/lead the definition of performance indicators, measurement and reporting of critical Management Information to enable right decision making
Proactive identification and effective management and/or escalation of conduct risk delivering key customer outcomes
Own, manage and supervise the risks which exist in the business area, ensuring mechanisms are in place to identify, report, manage and mitigate risk within a defined Risk Appetite, working in conjunction with the 2LOD
Conduct ongoing Review of process to challenge and pre-empt any operational losses
Enhance the Risk culture in your unit with a focus on proactive end to end risk management, leading to an improved control environment
Support in developing and maintaining the Business Continuity plans
