Controls Manager - Chief Controls Office (CCO) 6 months contract Singapore About Chief Controls Office

The Chief Controls Office provides extensive specialist support, co-ordination and oversight of the Barclays International Operations Risk and Control framework The Controls Manager is primarily responsible for driving quality risk management and assurance in line with the Enterprise Risk Management Framework (ERMF), Group policies and standards In addition, facilitate improvements to the framework and control environment through the deployment of enhancements and best practices

Overall purpose of role

Support Barclays International (BI) Operations to ensure compliance with the Enterprise Risk Management Framework (ERMF)

What will you be doing Support Barclays International (BI) Operations to ensure compliance to the Enterprise Risk Management Framework (ERMF) and ensure effective oversight and governance is in place across all risk and control workstreams (eg Risk Events, Issue Management, RCSAs, Dispensation, Waivers and Breaches)

Continue to develop and enhance the framework for Process Design Reviews and Deep Dives across the assigned business operation

Good understanding of Barclays Group Risk Control Frameworks and Policies to ensure they are applied and embedded across Barclays International Operations

Partner with Operations provide guidance and support,including validation of factual accuracy of any emerging issues where required

Independently monitor/review and challenge Risk information and indicators on an ongoing basis

Present insightful Risk Management Information and advice to Operations Management / to enable a clear understanding of responsibilities in compliance with the Enterprise Risk Management Framework Attend relevant Risk & Control meetings, providing risk insight, challenge and ensure all issues and actions are on track for closure

Continue to help raise awareness and improve understanding of the Risk culture across Operations through the provision of training and education

Provide guidance and support during external regulatory audits, onsite inspections and surveys

Support the broader CCO agenda across Asia

What were looking for Strong Leadership/People Management skills

Detailed knowledge of Operational Risk Management Frameworks and Industry Risk Management Practices

Proven capability to operate across a wide remit

Strong Communication and Influencing skills

Ability to interact with all levels across the Bank, across the 3 Lines of Defence

Skills that will help you in the role Risk Management Qualification (eg IRM)

Shaping and influencing management thought leadership

Extensive working knowledge of operational risk & control processes and practices, including experience in their application across Operational functions

Previous working experience in one or more Operations functions/teams
