Job Summary

The Plant Controller is responsible for all financial accounting of plant site operations, including costing, inventory valuation and standard cost setting The Controller report dotted line to the site leader and supports all manufacturing operations He/She will be charged with protecting company inventory and assets and ensuring accurate costing of all products Ensures the integrity of internal controls, financial records and processes Will also function as the lead cost controller for larger more complex projects

Responsibilities

Supports site leadership regarding all costing and inventory reduction initiatives and as the point of first contact for all financial related issues
Support the Quality, Environmental and Health and Safety (QEH&S) policy and strategic direction of the organization
Maintain costs in JD Edwards ERP system utilizing a standard cost system and analyze variances, working closely with operations to ensure production records are corrected and accurate
Monitor cycle counts Prepare, coordinate and reconcile annual physical inventory
Reviews and update material, labor and overhead standards annually
Prepares monthly manufacturing and inventory related journal entries, account reconciliations and financial schedules / reports within closing deadlines
Prepares monthly Supply Chain Optimization indicators, financial package, weekly savings evaluation and adhoc analysis / reports as required
Provide manufacturing accounting support for Company internal / external audits
Supports Sales and Marketing by developing product costs for new or existing products
Prepare taxes, commissions and other various schedules as needed
Supervise Cost Accountant and direct others within the organization

Skills and Experience

7 - 10 years cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment
Experience with a public company a plus
Strong MS Office Skills including advanced Excel (LookUps & Pivot Tables) knowledge
Experience with JD Edwards ERP (SME for Financials) desired
Experience with Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) a plus
Experience with month-end-close, journal entries and analysis
Strong knowledge of GAAP and Cost Accounting

Education

Bachelors degree in Finance or Accounting
