Chief Financial Officer

- Our client is a pioneering InsureTech player with a focus on General Insurance This firm is led by very well-known Senior Insurance Leaders and the firm has established credibility by creating a niche in insurance through thought leadership and innovation They have scaled-up aggressively with a 30% in FY 18-19 & have a projected growth of 75% with a premium of close to 150 crores for FY 19-20

- It has a rich portfolio of about 17500 highly SME focused clients spread across diverse industries across 150 locations & is on a rapid new client acquisition spree Being a start-up which has gained immense traction through their innovative offerings they are backed by two rounds of international investor funding and plan to grow manifold vying for third round this year itself

- They have a team of 300+ dynamic working professionals serving clients PAN India Being a leading financial services firm, they have access to all leading private and public sector insurance companies in India such as New India, National, LIC, and ICICI Lombard

Role Summary

- Responsible for leading the complete financial and secretarial portfolio for the organisation This requires involvement in all aspects of company management, including but not limited to Strategy formulation, implementation and monitoring, operational management, financial management, accounting and investor relations

Strategy Develop finance organizational strategies by contributing financial and accounting information, analysis, an recommendations to strategic thinking and direction; establishing functional objectives in line with organizational objectives

Controller responsibilities Evaluate, and potentially design/redesign and implement the Companys financial, accounting and reporting processes and supporting systems, ensuring an effective financial administration Drive the business planning & budgeting process by developing and deploying a framework for plans & budgets

- MIS and dashboards for organization and for investors Create & monitor performance dashboards from a financial perspective; keep all relevant stakeholders posted, on a timely basis, regarding ongoing financial condition of the organization; preparation of quarterly and interim management committee and Board of Directors financial reports

Investor Management Manage investor relationships and strategic alliances Representing the firm to investors and vice-versa

Audit - including Managing auditors Responsible for accounting and financial systems, monitor 100% statutory compliance with authorities and timely, adequate controls and accurate book keeping; Serve as a key point of contact for external auditors; Manage preparation and support of all external audits

Capital Funding Lead fund raising activities through relevant instruments and interaction with investors; Carry out due diligences, negotiation of deals, analysis of investment cash flows and evaluation of risk/return

Secretarial Obligations (optional)

- Analyse, identify and manage the legal risks and implications of all of the business transactions to safeguard the interest of the organization Handle disputes, litigation and arbitration of high value Handle the vetting of high-value legal documents, contracts and agreements Support, guide and assist external legal partners where necessary

- Risk Management Assess & take steps to minimize risk in all areas - finance, operations & technology Oversee creation of assessment templates & processes Engage in dialogues with keeper of the risk to take risk mitigation steps and look for leading indicators of possible risks

People Leadership

- Inspires and motivates high-performing finance teams, leading change, shaping and embodying a dynamic culture, and setting out a compelling vision that helps to navigate change

- Cohesive ability at interpersonal and communication skills, both verbally and written They must be able to engage with staff at all levels of the organization and exercise sound judgement
