Key Performance Indicators

The CEO shall be responsible for leading ICPFs team towards its mission She/he must have the skills and experience to deliver on the following Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)


1 Ensure good governance policies are board-approved and implemented

2 Ensure implementation of board-approved governance framework through clear flow of strategic guidance and direction

3 Develop strategic annual action plans in consultation with the Managing Trustee and Management Committee, which are designed to serve the child protection ecosystem and solve the problem

4 Create and implement systems for the monthly, quarterly and yearly reporting and compliance of grantees and to ICPF donors

5 Ensure that ICPF is a run cost-effectively and the systems and processes are agile and responsive to the needs associates, grantees and donors working towards our mission

6 Ensure functioning of the Management Committee, Investment Committee and other committees appointed by the Board for time to time

7 Contribute to improved board operations through regular updates on monthly and quarterly basis through compliance framework


1 Ensure that all ICPF associates understand the purpose and values of the mission

2 Lead by example and ensure that ICPFs organisation culture and the behaviour and decisions of its associates are aligned to serving the child protection system and solving the problem

3 Build strong, passionate and competent teams which receive the guidance, support and resources to perform their roles with efficiency

4 Ensure that KPIs of all teams and individuals are monitored and achieved, and timely corrective action is taken where needed such that the mission of ICPF is always on track Ensure shared understanding of organisation values, strategic priorities and information of all ICPF associates through an internal communications strategy

5 Ensure that all associates are motivated and inspired to take initiative and think creatively to serve the ecosystem and solve the problem

7 Represent the mission, vision and strategies of ICPF on external platforms in a coherent, accurate and strategic manner

Strategic Planning and Execution

1 Execute board-approved, strategic annual action plans through the Management Committee and implementation teams

a Ensure 25% year on year growth in fundraising through a strategic plan for different kinds of donors; and monitor key metrics like average contribution per donor, number of funders/donors by type (corporate, foundation, individual, etc), donor retention rate, average pledge collection time, funding proposal status, and diversity of funding sources

b Ensure equitable, compliant and efficient grant dissemination within three months of receiving grant application; followed by monitoring and evaluation, reporting and support to grantees and partners, as per the annual action plan

c Ensure high-risk and bold technology and innovation initiatives, particularly to combat online child sexual abuse and child pornography, as per the annual action plan

d Ensure strategic and action-oriented research on child protection to better understand gaps and challenges and to inform evidence-based resource allocation and program development

e Develop an external communication strategy to create and share regular media and social media content for strong national and regional narratives around the safety and well being of children; and to create awareness about ICPFs mission and initiatives, as per the annual action plan

f Ensure smooth and efficient operation of human resources and finance functions to further ICPFs mission, as per the annual action plan

2 Ensure that ICPF has the infrastructure, resources and knowledge to execute the annual action plan

3 Conduct weekly meetings with the Management Committee (and if necessary with implementation teams) to monitor and guide programmatic inputs, outcomes, budgets, performance and overall progress

4 Ensure timely and adequate support for course-correction where needed, to ensure that commitments to ICPF grantees and donors are met, and the outcomes are achieved

5 Ensure compliance to decisions from the Management Committee and inter-team meetings

6 Ensure utilization of the expertise and guidance of the Board, Advisory Council and Subject-specific committees for program design, strategy and implementation

7 Provide monthly progress updates to the Board/Managing Trustee on the annual action plan, including challenges and road-blocks being faced and the plans to address them

8 Continuous risk assessment and management to ensure ICPF is on track to achieve its mission as laid out in the annual action plan

9 Ensure coordination between teams, partners, advisory groups and the Board for smooth execution of the annual action plan

Organisation Development

1 Co-develop the KPIs of each ICPF associate with him/her and his/her reporting manager based on the annual action plan

2 Ensure timely and transparent quarterly and annual appraisal of each ICPF associate

3 Ensure that all ICPF associates receive specific and actionable feedback and support to improve their performance and grow professionally

4 Ensure opportunities for ICPF associates to provide performance feedback to their peers, reporting manager and the CEO

5 Provide one-on-one guidance to ICPF associates where needed

6 Ensure necessary corrective action is taken for employees under performing over three quarters

7 Ensure meritocratic and transparent systems of promotion and salary increments

8 Ensure monthly all-staff meetings to share progress, celebrate successes, discuss failures and provide opportunities for asking questions from other associates including leadership

9 Ensure team-building and professional development opportunities for all ICPF associates, including succession training, as per the HR Policy

10 Ensure hiring and retention of ICPF staff with required skills, culture fit and competencies

11 Facilitate innovation, creativity and problem solving for ICPF to achieve its mission

12 Ensure motivation and creative space of ICPF associates to thrive and take ownership of the ICPF mission

Representation on Global Platform

1 Network and liaise with key stakeholders including government agencies and international organisations through regular meetings

2 Actively participate in national and global child protection and education discussions and contribute to the development of sector priorities and initiatives

3 Keep abreast with latest developments and key players in the child protection ecosystem and allied fields through professional engagements

4 Maintain relationships with key activists and grassroots organisations in the child protection ecosystem

5 Secure ICPFs reputation and expertise as the foremost child protection organisation in South Asia through the external communication strategy, representation on strategic platforms, presence at events, publishing of research and position papers and presence in the media


Values-alignment Aligned to the values and approach of ICPF, the CEO shall be mission-driven to serve the child protection ecosystem and to end violence and exploitation of children

Inter-personal skills The CEO shall to be able to collaborate and build relationships across hierarchies, contexts and personality types within and external to ICPF She/he shall enable associated and teams to build healthy professional relationships to achieve ICPFs mission

People management skills The CEO shall have the personality, honesty and depth of character to build a culture of service and action, establish trust and understanding within the organisation, ensure the growth and well being of associates, and create a passionate mission-driven work environment

Creativity and problem-solving skills The CEO shall enable continuous improvement of ICPFs approach, strategies and programs and development of new and disruptive solutions through creative thinking and problem-solving

Work ethic The CEO shall possess strong work ethic and set high standards of integrity, professionalism, transparency and excellence to guide her/his work and lead the organisation

Ability for strategic action The CEO shall be able to think and plan strategically, take quick decisions and execute the complex and challenging action plans to achieve ICPFs mission

Emotional intelligence The CEO must be able self-aware, empathetic and emotionally available to understand motivations, and navigate sensitive situations and difficult conversations within the organisation and with external partners

Trust The CEO must inspire the trust of associates, the Board and strategic partners in the child protection ecosystem through her/his behavior, attitude and language

Management skills The CEO must be able to multi-task, delegate responsibilities, manage her/his time and resources, hold people accountable and manage the organisation efficiently and effectively
