Candidates with 5-7 years of experience in software testing-manual with strong ability & willingness to

Be an individual contributor in testing related activities in addition to test co-ordination tasks

Interact with test manager and development teams to develop a strong understanding of the project and testing objectives

Grasp the requirements quickly and derive/suggest test strategies based on business need

Derive test plans independently highlighting risks & mitigations

Design and create test conditions and scripts to effectively test business requirements

Arrive at the traceability matrix between requirements and test cases

Perform peer reviews

Execute and analyse test results

Effective Defect reporting and Tracking using defect tracking tools

Database knowledge, mainly in Oracle/SQL Server

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Self initiative and commitment to accomplish assigned tasks

Ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines

Ability to work on multiple projects based on changing priorities

Mentor and guide new QA members related to functionality

Track and provide appropriate status updates & risk escalations on Test progress to Test Manager

Has a flare for identifying and automating the regression/time consuming scenarios using freeware/market prevailing automation

tools
