Advertiser Success team (AST) is looking for a talented and driven Business Intelligence Engineer to scale our existing programs and power rapid innovation to empower us to stay ahead of our customers needs Amazon is investing heavily in building a world class advertising business and the Advertising Sales Tech team is at the head of this growth machine enabling our Sales teams to deliver at scale Our goal is to accelerate the otherwise human intensive sales operations by investing in strategic self-service applications that accelerate productivity of external advertising customers and internal sales executives If executed correctly, we will minimize or eliminate the human decision making in advertising The role will require the individual to work with a team of data engineers, business and tech savvy professionals to define and develop an analytics infrastructure based on the business needs that help measure the effectiveness and efficiency of the organization at all levels It will also entail managing the data management framework, systems, reports dashboards and strategies that optimize reporting functions to meet organizational goals and initiatives In this role you will continuously evolve management reporting, data and forecasting models, analyze results, and make business recommendations to senior management based on the data and analyses all in an environment of rapid growth and increasing complexity The role will also have some data/analytics project management responsibilities and is expected to independently assess and manage project deliverables, measure and report on progress, anticipate and resolve bottlenecks, and manage escalation if and when required

The successful candidate is detail oriented, high on business and analytical acumen, possesses a natural flair for automation/process improvement, and demonstrates ability to respond effectively and efficiently to senior stakeholders The candidate should be self-driven and possess the ability to work in an ambiguous environment

Key functions of this role

Identify the critical metrics/reports that measure org health, efficiency, and effectiveness and create self-service client facing dashboards to facilitate decision making
Collaborate on the design, development, maintenance, and delivery/presentation of forecasting models, metrics, reports, analyses, tools, and dashboards
Perform proactive diagnostic analysis on various measures and surface meaningful insights to the leadership team
Build dashboards and automate reporting data
Respond to a variety of on-demand ad-hoc analytical requests as needed
Work closely with peers and stakeholders to access, pull, transform, and analyze data from a variety of sources
Compile results in a concise, meaningful, and actionable format and share findings to senior leadership

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS Basic Qualifications

Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, Finance, Statistics or related discipline
4 years of relevant experience in business intelligence role, or post-graduate degree in an analytical field and 1 year of relevant experience in business intelligence role
Experience with data warehousing and business intelligence tools, techniques and technology
Experience analyzing data or technical issues to create effective solutions
Experience with analytics, business analysis, or comparable consumer analytics solutions
Experience with SQL, Relational databases, and/or Big Data
Experience with data warehousing concepts and coding in at least one modern programming language (Python, Ruby, Java)
Experience with data mining, including ETL, and using databases in a business environment with multiple datasets
Experience using business intelligence reporting tools like QuickSight and Tableau

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Preferred Qualifications

6 years of professional experience in analytics, data engineering, and business intelligence
Basic statistical tests including, but not limited to, t-tests, chi-square, and regression
Proficiency with statistical/data modeling software packages (eg R, SPSS, Python)
Knowledge of AWS Infrastructure including S3, Redshift, DynamoDB and RDS
Proven ability to look at solutions in unconventional ways, identify opportunities to innovate, and lead the way
Proven track record in taking on end-to-end ownership and successfully delivering results in a fast-paced, dynamic business environment is strongly preferred
