Job Description:

I Responsibilities

The Business Development Representative is responsible for the promotion and sale of all Emerson Automation Solutions Actuation Technology engineered diaphragm seal products under the RPP brand This position reports directly to the Business Development Manager or VP of Sales

Responsibilities include

Promotes the sale of all specified Actuation Technology RPP branded engineered diaphragm seal products

Develop annual goas and targets aimed at managing and growing the sale of products; agree on goals and targets with supervisor; ensure goals and targets are met in the specified time frame

Collaborates with supervisor to establish yearly booking forecasts for specific accounts; and agree on annual targets Meet or exceed yearly booking forecasts Reports actual bookings monthly

Manage the assigned accounts; review actual results versus expectations regularly (at least quarterly); take corrective action as and when required

Participates in the Actuation Technologies Sales & Operations planning process

Makes direct sales calls on existing and target OEMs with or without the territory sales channel partners, as deemed applicable and appropriate Prepares and submits call reports, itineraries and expense reports in a timely fashion

Helps resolve warranty and pricing issues between Actuation Technology manufacturing facilities and the direct accounts

Performs general trouble-shooting and service calls at customers sites as appropriate

Advises manufacturing entities of quality issues as reported by OEM accounts and support quality function in resolution of issues

Represents the company at trade shows, general sales meetings and general industry functions as needed

Support inside sales staff with account management, order fulfilment and liaise with manufacturing operations to ensure timely delivery

Expedite customer orders as required

Provide technical and commercial product training to the distribution channel or sales channel partners as required

Liaise with the Actuation Technology and RPP marketing and engineering groups to provide product input to assist teams in establishing pricing and/or appropriate discount structures

Collaborates with Actuation Technology and RPP R&D teams to identify and develop new market offerings for products, materials and capabilities Promote the sale of these new products, materials and capabilities

Work collaboratively with other Actuation Technology and RPP functional team members, functional department members, and sales channel partners to manage, promote and solicit the sale of products

Ensure all Trade Compliance policies and procedures are followed during the development of new accounts, management of existing accounts, and normal customer orders as per Emerson corporate policy and Actuation Technology policy

Additional Responsibilities

In addition to the specific responsibilities described above, the Business Development Representative will have one or more of the following additional responsibilities

o Provide market research and industry trend data to assist in long term strategy and planning

o Fill in as a backup for inside sales staff during vacations and absences

o Support AR collections activities with OEM accounts that are overdue beyond negotiated terms

o Engage in Continuous Improvement activities within function and be available as a member of any cross-functional Continuous Improvement teams as requested

Assist the Business Development Manager and/or VP of Sales as required

II Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Bachelor of Science degree from accredited college or university; Engineering or Business degree preferred or equivalent experience

3-5 years experience in Business to Business sales role, preferably in the process control industry

Excellent Oral and written communication skills

Computer skills Proficiency in MS Office programs including PowerPoint and Excel and data analysis

Valid Drivers License

Must possess passport and be willing to travel within Canada and the United States ; possible some international travel

Ability to establish priorities and multi-task
