Department Profile
The Finance Division reports to the Chief Financial Officer and consists of some 3,000 employees worldwide Finance protects the Morgan Stanley franchise by serving as guardian of the Firms books and records, and by contributing to firm wide risk management and risk reduction This division maintains relationships with Morgan Stanleys various industry and government regulators, and also serves as the conduit of financial information to the outside investment community Finance plays a critical role as advisor to Morgan Stanleys various businesses and its senior management team

Morgan Stanley Private Bank, National Association (MSPBNA or Bank) is a nationally chartered bank regulated by the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) and the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation MSPBNA accepts deposit that are principally used to fund lending (including residential mortgage, security based and tailored lending to high net worth individuals) and investing activities

Job Summary
This position is within Banks Legal Entity Controller group supporting a stand-alone legal entity and requires a strong, self-motivated and innovative individual that is capable of working in a deadline driven environment The individual will be responsible for managing the accounting, management and regulatory reporting requirements for the Bank This individual will work closely with Business Units CFOs and Financial Planning & Analysis teams, Bank Treasury, Product Controllers, Bank Group Compliance, Internal Audit, Vendor Management Office and other stakeholders to meet the requirements of the financial close process and regulatory reporting


- Manage team responsible for preparing the Board of Directors materials as well as Management Committee and Management Due Diligence reports
- Demonstrates in-depth knowledge of accounting rules, banking regulations, and financial service operations to understand and monitor the risks associated with Banks business and support functions
- Liaise with Banks Financial Planning & Analysis team to coordinate the quarterly and multi-year forecasting and planning process
- Manage audited annual financial statement process which includes working directly with Banks external auditor and ensure that effective internal controls over financial reporting or FDICIA are maintained
- Assist with the review of monthly financials and bank required regulatory filings
- Ensure compliancy with Regulation W related to service level agreements with Banks affiliates
- Provided review and approval to proposed new product offerings to be booked to the Bank and participate in New Product Approval Committee
- Participate in the internal control related reviews (eg risk control self-assessment) and related monitoring or reviews conducted by Bank Regulators, Internal Audit, Bank Group Compliance, etc
- Perform other duties or ad-hoc projects as assigned or requested


- 10 years of experience in Finance supporting commercial banks or banking activities with in-depth knowledge of banking products
- Must be able to work with large data sets
- A great aptitude for numbers and quick grasp of new reporting applications
- Must be extremely proficient with Microsoft Excel (including Essbase) and PowerPoint
- Effective communication, interpersonal and partnership skills
- Highly organized with excellent attention to detail
- Ability to handle multiple projects, competing priorities/deadlines with high degree of flexibility
