Responsibilities

You will help application and customers by delivering expert-level DBA services including monitoring their databases, making recommendations to improve performance and durability, fix things when they break, help design new architectures and implement best practices, perform upgrades, configure and monitor backups, assist with recoveries, and other related DBA-level tasks as needed You will utilize advanced troubleshooting skills and creative problem-solving capabilities You must be self-motivated and capable of working autonomously and as a team

Requirements

Minimum 7 years of experience in Database Administration
Managing large scale and high transactional MariaDB databases servicing critical OLTP applications
Solid understanding of MariaDB internal architecture, demonstrated experience with MariaDB database design, implementation, performance tuning, and capacity planning
Participate in large, complex and critical database deployments, migration, patching, consolidation and upgrades
Experience with MariaDB products such as MaxScale, ColumnStore, Cluster/Galera etc
Strong understanding of InnoDB architecture
In-depth knowledge of various high availability environments and technologies
Solid Knowledge of Replication technologies
Sharding and partitioning
Proficient with multiple backup and recovery utilities (mydumper, Mariabackup, Xtrabackup, mysqldump, etc)
Restoring big databases with point-in-time
Experience with Percona toolkit
Automate various DBA tasks
Expert knowledge of MariaDB and surrounding tools
MariaDB monitoring software experience (ie MONyog, Nagios, Cacti, Zabbix)
Very strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Experience with 247 support environment
Strong knowledge of SQL query writing and optimization
Strong knowledge of database design, administration, and architecture
Understanding of any other databases like Oracle, MSSQL, DB2 and MongoDB

General Requirements

Demonstrated experience with Open Source/Linux development and production environments
Hands on experience with designing and implementing database replication strategies
Experience in designing and automating repetitive processes
5 years plus working with MySQL/MariaDB technology
Possess creative ability, credibility, self-confidence and independence
Good team player with strong analytical, communication and troubleshooting skills
Able to work under pressure and multi-task
Pro-active, dedicated, committed and responsible
