The Role Responsibilities & Our Ideal Candidate

Strategy

Awareness and understanding of the Groups business strategy and model appropriate to the role
Awareness of the vision and mission statement of the CFCC function, as well as the annual CFCC Action Plan, as it relates to the role
Support Global Head, Compliance Policy to establish a robust and holistic policy governance framework which covers compliance and conduct risk sub-types owned by the compliance function aligned to the Frameworks owned by Conduct, Financial Crime and Compliance (CFCC),

Business

Awareness and understanding of the wider business, economic, and market environment in which the Group operates

Risk Management

Lead the innovation and digitisation of Frameworks, Policies, and Standards owned by CFCC, including development, testing, and enhancements of tools on AskCompliance, and other portals by CFCC
Responsible for ongoing maintenance and update of technological tools developed by the Strategy, Governance, and Core Compliance (SGCC) team; responsible for carrying out and oversight of controls testing associated with such tools; responsible for reviewing and analysing management information derived from these tools, as required from time to time
Support Global Head, Compliance Policy to establish, implement, and maintain a clear and robust process for the issuance, review and approval of compliance policies and standards Support Global Head, Compliance Policy to ensure all policies and standards have clear plans for engagement, implementation, training, communications and assurance/monitoring prior to issuance
Formulate approach to obtain appropriate management information to assure effective controls and standards in CFCC Frameworks, Policies, and Standards
Be an effective second line of defence in day-to-day responsibilities, including advice on interpretation and applicability of CFCC Frameworks, Policies, and Standards

Governance

Support Global Head, Compliance Policy to ensure all CFCC Frameworks, Policies, and Standards are aligned to the Groups Enterprise Risk Management Framework standards

Regulatory & Business Conduct

Display exemplary conduct and live by the Groups Valued Behaviours and Code of Conduct
Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct
Support the team and the wider Compliance function to achieve the outcomes set out in the Banks Banks Conduct Risk Framework
Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters

Key Stakeholders

Group Compliance teams (SGCC, Business and Functions Compliance, CFCC Transformation)

Regions and Country Compliance teams

Enterprise Risk Management team

Group Operational Risk

Other Responsibilities

Work with the Global Head, SGCC and SGCCLT and their teams to drive development and implementation of holistic and coherent CFCC Frameworks and Policies, in particular
Develop an understanding of relevant Frameworks and Policies and work with stakeholders to confirm how these requirements will be met, including the risk control framework, in the relevant function and/or business
Ensure new or amended Frameworks, Policies, and Standards are reflected in technological tools, to capture the agreed compliance approach
Work with Frameworks and Policies owners to have all changes approved, including the drafting of papers for approving committees if required
Drive delivery of CFCC Frameworks, Policies, and Standards by ensuring timely reviews of documents through maintaining a tracker and follow up on corresponding actions
Assist in developing supporting papers for Committees, and obtaining required approvals;
Support the Global Head, Compliance Policy to draft and publish policy documentation notices and related documents that help to communicate changes of CFCC Frameworks, Policies, and Standards
Ensure that appropriate MI is available to assure adherence to policy including MI around policy breaches, training completion, and effectiveness
Other responsibilities as required from time to time
