Position Summary

The Communications Associate (CA) will play a critical role in building awareness around the work of Alumni The primary responsibility of the CA will be to build a brand identity of Teach For Indias various Alumni team projects within the community and beyond The CA will work with the National Alumni team and the National Comms team to capture stories and build campaigns to drive participation in our projects through different platforms Last but not the least, the individual will drive on the ground execution of communication pieces during various Alumni events

While we would prefer the Communications Associate to be based out of Mumbai, we are open to considering other Teach For India locations as well

Team Overview

The mission of the Alumni Impact team in Phase 3 (the next 5-year phase of Teach For Indias journey, 2017-2022) is to accelerate the individual and collective impact of Teach For Indias 2000-strong, and growing, Alumni network towards redefining an excellent education for 1 million students across India We intend to realize this mission through a 3-pronged strategy that involves

Infusing Alumni into key roles and puzzle pieces in the system where they have the leverage to influence positive change for students

Facilitating the ongoing leadership development of Alumni in key roles in order to expand their impact on education stakeholders

Catalyzing collaboration across the network of Fellows and Alumni in order to mobilize collective know-how and resources towards our vision for students

Through a combination of these strategic priorities, the Alumni team hopes to foster a self-sustaining community of change-makers who have the mindsets, skills, and resources to build local movements for educational equity in Teach For Indias regions by 2022

Responsibilities

1 Build a brand for our projects and design campaigns to drive participation

Support Alumni team projects with any branding requirements collaterals, videos, presentations, etc

Work with the National Communications team as well as external partners to design and launch comms plans to build awareness and drive participation for various Alumni projects

Coordinate efforts to capture key National Alumni team events like, Bootcamps and share summaries through different mediums

Create impact reports for all the National Alumni projects to report impact of the projects to internal and external stakeholders such as senior leadership team, donors, etc

(You will have a designer/videographer to support you with the execution of all branding materials)

2 Capture and share the story of our Alumni

Conceptualize innovative ways to tell the story of our Alumni through different mediums (photos, videos, case studies, etc)

Create, story-board, film, and edit short inspiring videos capturing the individual and collective impact of our Alumni that can be shared via social media

Additional Responsibilities

Education and Experience

A Bachelors degree in a relevant field (Media, Communications) with previous experience in communications/ media/ film-direction/ marketing role
