Team Description

The Hong Kong Product Administration (HK PA) team implements and overseas critical tasks for the Hong Kong Unit Trusts Coordinating across the APAC region (China, Taiwan, Japan, Singapore and Australia) and acting as a point of communication with EMEA and the US on both the Hong Kong Unit Trusts and other JPMorgan funds sold in the APAC region

Core responsibilities involve acting as a point of escalation on fund related matters that vary from day to day operational issues requiring immediate attention, such as fair valuing a fund holding, to implementing yearlong regulatory initiatives such as the current SFC Unit Trust Code of Conduct changes

The HK PA team manage the three Trustee relationships that are in place to oversee the funds and ultimately protect the unit holders This often requires detailed explanations on current issues or new initiatives as well as coordinating Trustee due diligence requirements

The team maintains core responsibilities including Regulatory Compliance, Liquidity Risk Management tools, China Business, Financial Statements (Notes approval), Volcker, Legal Entity maintenance and error management responsibilities

HK PA is a core function within JPMorgan Asset Management

The team consists of 5 PA analysts, who are expected to develop a level of expertise in our funds, our organisation along with our obligations and commitments to regulators and ultimately the unit holders of our funds

The role is to join the flat structured team and to share in the broad tasks described above

There are opportunities to increase your knowledge and progress while on the job, in the asset management industry and specialising in a fascinating area of the Asset Management sector The key characteristic is a can do attitude and willingness to get involved in a number of interesting areas in a demanding environment

Ideally you will have a broad knowledge of the funds ranges covered, along with the principles and practicalities involved in producing a Unit Trust daily NAV

Prepare any relevant materials to facilitate regular Trustee meeting

Support team to ensure compliance with SFC and MPFA regulations as required

Acting as a control function for funds within the AM space

Communicate with key internal (Compliance, Risk, Control Management) stakeholders

Partner with other Asset Management teams on key projects / initiatives

Review and understand BAU Operational Models in-line with the strategic direction of the business

Maintain relevant database such as Global Entity Management System (GEMS)

Support / prepare relevant information for regular forums / committee meetings (such as Product Administration Forum, Asia Valuation Committee, HK Distribution Committee, HK Fund Risk Rating Committee)

Support / prepare fair valuation proposals or any relevant fair valuation BAU tasks

Support / prepare quarterly valuation executive summary for committees review

Calculate bi-annual fiscal charge / swing pricing for liquidity risk management tool

Perform annual back-testing analysis on fair valuation process performed during the year

Support / facilitate any Due Diligence or confirmation requested from our internal stakeholders

Work closely with other Control functions to understand trend issues

Participate in regular service review meetings

Review best practice on Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and policy generally

Support any ad-hoc requests

Qualifications and skills

Minimum of 3-5 years experience in the asset management industry

Compliance, Risk, Audit, Product Development, Fund Accounting, Operations background would be advantageous

PowerPoint and Excel proficiency required

Ability to multi-task and manage competing priorities/workflows

Good people / relationship management experience essential

Excellent communication skills at all levels

Accounting qualifications would be advantageous

Strong commitment to accuracy

Team player, takes initiative to pre-empt what may be needed and required

Self-driven with a flexible approach to different working environments

Excellent co-ordination and time management skills

Investment regulatory knowledge would be helpful

Knowledge of current regulatory changes in the industry and the impact on Asset Management companies
