Key Purpose of the Job (Position Summary)

This position is responsible for executing assigned Product Development (new or existing) activities to ensure timely completion of all activities through coordination with all concerned departments The position is responsible for coordinating and managing interaction with assigned OEMs through the NPD process The position is also responsible for documenting all the NPD data in PLM and compiling various reports for analysis


Claim analysis and corrective actions
Timely preparation of reports and PLM updation
Performance improvement of existing product
Benchmarking with Domestic & International competitor products
Customer in-sighting and market visits
Value engineering activities
Adherence to NPD plan
OE relationship management timeliness of responses
Tracking of products under evaluation


New Product Development

Participate in meetings (with OEMs/ Clients) pertaining to NPD with Senior Manager Product development and assist in preparation of a proposal for NPD
Collect the data and information required for NPD to enable calculation workout for NPD activities
Coordinate to arrange all resources like materials, machines, tools, etc for executing NPD plans and review the moulds, materials and tools( to be used for making the product) for their appropriateness
Co-ordinate testing trials with the test centre by conducting plant visits and prepare a test tyre analysis report
Monitor test tyre dispatch activities
Obtain the certificate for NPD from the concerned authorities
Key in activities in PLM at every stage of NPD to keep a track of NPD progress/ timelines and to ensure timely documentation of the activities
Document TES/ layout modification in case of changes in design or process
Prepare an NPD compilation report for every new product to be submitted to senior management for review

Breakthrough Product development & Technology development

Work closely with the CFT and support in preparation of proposal for Breakthrough/ Technology development
Co-ordinate all development activities like Tool procurement, BM analysis, communicating with CFTs, testing and prepare a compilation report
Validate the product in the field and prepare product readiness report

Claim analysis

Conduct regular market visits to see failed tyres and gather information to enable claim analysis
Conduct Godown visits to review and track failed tyres
Analyse the causes for claims and prepare a report for the same

Customer Interaction

Participate in technical discussions related to product design/ development with customers/ OEMs along with Senior Manager Product development
Resolve queries/ complaints raised by the OEMs and Customer Service team in a timely manner

Other activities

Conduct desk research for capturing the market trends and also conduct market visits to gain customer insight
Conduct various benchmarking/ competition analysis studies and prepare analysis report for the same

Education and Experience Required


B Tech or BE (Mechanical / Rubber Tech)


0 - 3 years of experience in relevant field
