Process Overview*

Quality Assurance testing team acts as a control function by performing independent testing to ensure robust governance and appropriate oversight process is in place QA testing team assesses that controls are effective, complete and appropriate through our risk management process Identify, Measure, Monitor and Control Testing is performed on the control set in various stage of product life cycle for RDA, Cash Management, Money markets, Settlement ( Fixed Income and Equity ), Trade Processing and Stock Lending globally to determine the effectiveness, applicability, completeness, accuracy and timeliness for various activity performed by the Global Banking & Markets Operations teams

The Quality Assurance testing team works within the SCTO and COS organization and is responsible for

Detailed investigation, analysis and presentation of operational testing on high risk processes
Works with Supervisor to estimate test case build and execution effort (eg initial pass rate assumptions, defect rate)
Identify/ Manage testing risks
Reports on test execution progress and defect status
Participate in defect management/ triage meetings
Provides input to continuously improve test methodology
Provides input to standard test metrics and reporting
Work with Analyst & Team manager to develop the test plan scope, coverage and objectives
Proactively participate with the built out of Control Design Effectiveness testing
Providing an independent assessment of controls in line with Operational effectiveness testing
Working with FLU & Line management to strengthen the testing of operations high risk processes
Challenge periodic reviews of high risk processes
Provide updates to on shore management and work closely with onshore teams
Embedding a risk awareness culture across the organization

The primary focus is on managing the assessment of control design and effectiveness This will include the following

1 Control Design review

Identify control processes that are failing, inadequate or inconsistently applied resulting in an in ability to fully mitigate the risks for which they were originally intended

Understand the process flow and assess the strength of the controls in place, recommend enhancements

2 Control Effectiveness Testing

Design the appropriate scripts & sampling to determine control effectiveness alongside the onshore teams

Ensure effective execution of testing and gap identification

Reporting on results with clear recommendations

Responsibilities*

Ability to understand the functionality of the tests being conducted and write meaningful test scripts and cases
To complete QA testing for various controls per the departments calendar/schedule in a time bound manner without any deviations
Reporting/Escalation of testing discrepancies, issues and/or questions to appropriate contact
Ability to work independently & challenge the Line of business with the gaps identified as applicable
To work closely with Onshore and Offshore Processes and test effectiveness of controls
Ensure that all testing documentation is audit compliant
Gather and analyze requirements
Assist in preparing and reviewing the process test strategy and test plan
Review and validate test results and defect reported by the QA Testers
Defect and issue identification, logging, tracking, resolution and reporting
Tasks status communication to Leadership Team (QA Team Manager)
Ensure testing commitments are met and communicate potential impacts to target dates to the LOB Partners/Leadership Team
Identify risk to testing and communicate to the QA Team Manager
Help identify and implement new process improvement
Assist in existing process improvements Adhere to all QA processes and procedures
Conduct Training for new QA Team members
Build and manage strong working relationships

Requirements*

Understanding on various Regulators governing Investment Banking
Knowledge and experience for writing meaningful test scripts / executing / reporting
Candidate should be able to work independently and meet the stringent timelines self driven
Eye for detail and good analytical & interpretation skills
Excellent written & verbal communication skills
Ability to communicate, share ideas and influence people across all levels
Sound knowledge on MS office tools such as Excel, Word and PowerPoint
Global Markets Product Knowledge an added advantage
12-14 years of overall experience, with at least 4 years of relevant experience

Mandatory skills* Performed testing / prepared test scripts for control testing

Strong domain knowledge on Global Markets and (or) Operational Risk Management
Good understanding of Trade life Cycle
Good understanding of Quality Control and Quality Assurance

Desired skills* Understanding on QA testing regulations
Qualification Graduate

Advanced Excel, PowerPoint, Access
