The Beta Strategies Business

The business has three areas of focus

Strategic Beta and Alternative Beta strategies, founded on unique quantitative research capabilities;

Market cap-weighted exposures, supporting growth in Multi-Asset Solutions and other strategic relationships; and

Best-in-class delivery capability for exchange-traded funds (ETFs), supporting and marketing both beta and active strategies The ETF business spans both EMEA and the US and an array of product types across Fixed Income, Equity and Alternatives

The Middle Office Team Roles and Responsibilities

Beta Middle Office Team provide bespoke operational solutions to support Portfolio Managers (and other Front Office business units), and requires detailed knowledge of Prime and Synthetic Prime Brokerage Accounts, Passive funds and ETF Additionally the team contributes to many firm wide projects such as the centralization of Collateral Management and the Dual Prime Broker initiatives The team is split over London and New York currently formed of five Vice Presidents, seven Associates, and three professionals

The nature of this senior role requires detailed technical knowledge of all asset classes, the ability to devise and effectively communicate solutions and to build strong relationships with Portfolio Managers, senior Business Heads, Operations Managers (Globally) and Technology Activities performed will lead to seamless reporting for the Beta Strategies Front Office and Exchange Traded Funds (ETF) business

The Team also looks into various checks related to Analytics & Data Quality for portfolio management tools used by PMs and oversight of reporting made available relating to ETF products There are likely to be many stringent operational requirements to ensure Tracking Error is minimized and the Beta team will need to be knowledgeable of the end to end process The successful candidate will be experienced in Beta/ETF Products and will provide knowledge and ideas to enable the team to become an Operations center of excellence

The candidate must also have a sound knowledge of the ETF business and be able to find ways to improve and streamline the current support for the product

Specific Responsibilities

Start of Days Checks on positions, price and analytical data

Ability to produce and interpret results from internal clients Ability to foresee and navigate team and business through upcoming issues

Providing operational support for Exchange Traded Funds and Beta products, across a number of different strategies and account models

Manage deliverables while servicing all ad hoc queries and requests

Liaise with third party providers to validate Daily Variance on Analytics

Responsibility for Maintenance of static data within the system & reconciliations

Working on a proactive basis to ensure the Portfolio Managers accounts are accurate, seeking to minimize tracking error

Responsibility for Running and distribution of reports, running of pre-defined queries in the system, preparation and production of MIS/presentation

Core Skill-sets

Have the ability to work independently and to proactively seek guidance from others as needed

Prior experience on applications such as Bloomberg is needed for the job

Strong team player and has the capacity to build good working relationships with cross functional/geographical teams
