Job Description:

It is a fascinating time to be working in the asset management industry The future direction of asset prices is uncertain and so is the revenue outlook for asset management firms MIFID II has increased the cost of being in business, and its effect on market structure and price formation is still playing out Distribution patterns are also changing as institutional and retail investor attitudes and objectives evolve And it is all happening in parallel with big advances in data science, computing power and software methods

Capco has the capabilities that asset managers need access to, as they navigate these challenges; designing client propositions, enabling digital distribution and servicing, increasing operational efficiency, and creating new insight from data to differentiate the returns they create Through our wealth, private banking and fund administration practices, we also understand the shifting dynamics of asset owner, intermediary and outsourcing partner relationships that asset managers are dealing with

As a result, our asset management practice has grown rapidly, and we expect that growth to continue We are looking for Consultants and Senior Consultants to join the team

About You

You are likely to share our passion for helping the asset management industry to transform
You will want to challenge the status quo and explore how new methods and technologies and can help
You will have a base of knowledge to build on It could be knowing how asset managers run money, their regulatory obligations, expertise in a business process area, or knowledge of a key system
Capco projects may touch on any part of an asset manager, so we need people with knowledge and experience of sales & distribution, investment, dealing and operations environments
You are likely to have some operational or change experience in the sector Gained either by working for an asset manager, or by working on projects for a consultancy firm
You could find yourself on a project involving any type of fund-structure, asset class, investment strategy, distribution model or AUM size So broader knowledge is an advantage, as is having experience that is anchored in one of these areas
You can still succeed, even if this is your first experience of consultancy An important characteristic shared by our people is being comfortable with the uncertainty and being able to adapt We have a lot of industry experience at Capco and we know how to help industry candidates transition to consulting

About the Role

The projects you will work on could involve;

Market segmentation and growth strategy
Operating model design, location strategy and automation
Business architecture design (connectivity between systems, data flows and processes etc)
Research, portfolio management and operations process improvement
Traditional and digital distribution
Client service proposition design and implementation
Impact assessment of new technology (for example how will blockchain impact TA)
Software selection and evaluation (PMS, IBOR, PM&R, etc)
Investment data management and integration
Service provider oversight and outsourcing
Regulatory change and execution (for example MIFID II, GDPR, Suitability and SMCR)

Successful candidates will bring;

The ability to shape and solve complex, ambiguous business, change and / or technology problems
The ability to engage, persuade and win the trust of client people of all levels
Very strong team behaviours and values
Interest and aptitude in business development, including for example preparing proposals for clients and working out how to win new projects
Interest in developing Capcos capabilities, alongside project work For example, writing a piece of research, helping with recruitment or developing marketing content
Qualifications that can help but are not mandatory include PMP, Prince2, Lean Six Sigma, and CFA
