Job brief

We arelooking fora Sales Manager to lead our South Africa region The successful candidate should meet our customer acquisition and revenue growth objectives The responsibilities would include developing key growth sales strategies, tactics and action plans

Responsible for setting the direction and managing the deliverables of the assigned sales team, and achieving revenue and expense objectives Resolves customer problems and participates in important negotiations with key customers Where appropriate, seeks to build strategic executive relationships externally with clients and internally within company, and partners with internal and external resources to develop best-in-class solutions for the customer Manages the performance of individual contributors and the team overall, and grows and develops talent within the organization

Responsibilities

Own and exceed annual revenue quotain the country
Keep track of the gross margins and ensure the gross margin targets are met Quarter on Quarter
Develop and execute strategic plan to achieve sales targets and expand the customer base across segments and verticals in South Africa
Build and maintain strong,long-lasting customer / Channel relationships
Effectivelycommunicate the value proposition of Aruba in the networking arena
Understand market dynamics and put in an effective and executable strategy in line with industry trends
Drive the country sales teams towards sales forecast and operational discipline
Aligning with Channel, marketing and SE organization and develop a joint plan to execute
Keep a constant check on productivity and take firm and corrective action if need
Strategic sales planning & implementation- Orchestrates the development of strategic sales plans that reflect the companys business strategy, to advance market share/penetration, and achieve profitable growth
Consultative selling- Strategizes and coaches team on how to apply consultative-selling techniques to identify and advance opportunities that result in ongoing profitable revenue growth for the company; prepares for client calls in partnership with sales teams and supports the efforts of the team during client meetings; ensures sales teams have access to other company resources and encourages them to nurture relationships with client influencers and decision makers

Business Management

Strategic Planning- Translates business goals into actionable plans and strategies that reflect the requirements and opportunities within area-of-control Aligns area-of-control account and market opportunities with upstream strategic plans and metrics Sets sales priorities and establishing these as the focus of individual or sales team activities
Execution- Actively manages business plans to meet revenue goals/quotes and advance the business interests of the company Determines if an opportunity is profitable for the company
Forecast/Budget Control- Tracks and manages rolling forecasts and budgets to ensure timely and accurate roll-ups
Pipeline Management- Builds, monitors and orchestrates sales pipelines to ensure continuous population of near- and long-term opportunities Balances quick wins against longer sales-cycle opportunities to ensure both immediate wins and long-term profitability for the company
Operations Building/Improvement- Continuously monitors, troubleshoots and improves area-of-control operations to ensure alignment with the companys business direction, the quality of business practices, optimum organizational performance and a highly motivated sales force

Leading & Managing Sales Team

Create an environment which motivates the sales team to go the extra mile and develop a sense of belonging
Coaching & Performance Management Assesses and manages employee performance to ensure individual and group excellence; counsels and supports individuals through selling challenges; manages performance and results of individuals through selling challenges; manages performance and results of high and low performers
- Models effective selling skills; motivates and supports sales teams in selling; demonstrates a high level of support in the pursuit and closing of deals
People development- Nurtures and advances the talent required to maintain the companys sales force excellence within area of control; sponsors and directs skill building activities to increase the productivity and accomplishments of the sales force
Change management- Ability to work through an environment of change and effectively lead a sales team through transitions beyond their control

Requirements

Build and develop management strengths
Proven sales leadership experience, meeting or exceeding targets
Ability to communicate, present andinfluenceall levels of the organization, including executive and C-level
Proven ability to drive the sales strategy from planning to execution
Proven ability to articulate the distinct aspects of Aruba products and services
Proven ability toposition Aruba productsagainst competitors
Typically 8-10 years experience in Networking infrastructure and Mobility business, good understanding of Datacenter networking would be an added advantage
Have a sound operational and financial acumen to decipher financial information to plan and strategize accordingly
Proven track record in leadership skills, developing customer-focused, differentiated and achievable solutions
Excellent listening, negotiation and presentation skills
Excellent verbal and written communications skills
Excellent interpersonal skills
Leadership - Able to lead effectively in a complex and political environment, and deliver results; Able to influence without direct authority; Able to balance between competing priorities and be flexible and creative; Able to drive team performance to best in class; Able to create and build highly effective sales teams and organization; Able to communicate effectively across multiple levels in client organizations, the company and the industry
