Function Description

- Smart Monitoring transformed a process that relied on manual testing and created an integrated data-driven platform that detects and addresses company risks - such as accounts being opened with incomplete information or unnecessary fees being approved - in real-time

- Over the past 18 months, Smart Monitoring has begun its growth into first-line risk management key indicators, including the iFind application

Purpose of the Role

- The Global Risk and Compliance Technology team is looking for a highly motivated professional to join as the Director for Analytic & Rule Development

- You will have a passion for analytics and machine learning; deep knowledge and experience of utilizing new technologies to create global key risk indicators across the first, second and third lines of risk management defense

- An understanding of Operational Risk and Internal Audit business processes is a plus


- Drive innovation and manage product development teams within a fast-paced, agile environment

- Cultivate an environment of continuous engineering improvement through mentoring, feedback, and metrics

- Recruit Technology professionals with business and industry experience, and develop, reward and energize a competent, effective team within the technology organization Identify and implement strategies to attract and maintain a highly skilled and engaged workforce

- Manage and/or lead Software Development teams, obtaining necessary resources, acting as an escalation point and removing impediments to achieve goals and objectives

- Engage in hands-on design and ensure alignment of strategy, architecture, tools/methods with Software Engineers and Architects to execute product roadmaps

- Collaborate with a wide variety to stakeholders across Product and Technology teams to drive change required to execute product roadmaps

- Coach, guide and promote creation of high quality, clearly documented, and compliant deliverables across Engineering teams

- Enable integrated teams to deliver Technology solutions in support of key product initiatives by working closely with Product Managers, Technical Project Managers, Architects, Engineers, and Quality Assurance

- Collaborate within and across Business units to prioritize, plan, and execute the development schedule for product releases


Critical Factors to Success

- Ability to work with Compliance, Operational Risk and Audit Business teams in addition to Product development teams, providing them with alternative workflows and interfaces

- Able to share Technology subject matter expertise with Architects and other Engineers across multiple organizations

- Ability to adapt solution architecture to meet broader needs of the enterprise, solving unique problems that span multiple technology platforms

- Able to gain cooperation from peers for initiatives within own and adjacent applications / platforms

- Ability to build and leverage strong relationships with business and technology partners

- Strong organizational and communication skills

Past Experience 10+ years experience managing engineering teams with relevant experience in automation and utilization of process automation tools

Academic Background

- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Computer Science Engineering, or related field required

Technical Skills/Capabilities

- Knowledge of front end, middleware and backend technologies such as HTML, JavaScript, IOS, Web Services, Java

Knowledge of Platforms

- Experience with Scrum, Kanban, or another Agile application development methodology

- Hands-on experience with Lucy, ML and Splunk is required
