Basic knowledge of RDBMS concepts and SQL

Ability to use MS Excel for data analysis

Appreciation of system architecture complexities across multiple systems

Role Purpose (overall high level summary of the role)

The job holder is accountable as the business analyst within the team to enable the team to deliver products and services, and continually help the team to improve technically

This role will carry out some or all of the following activities

Work with the Product Owner, Solution & Platform Architects to identify changes required, create & agree necessary stories

Work with the Agile Lead to ensure efficient flow of the backlog of change activities

Accountable for ensuring products and services maintain compliance with mandatory and regulatory requirements and control objectives within the risk and controls framework

Responsible for ensuring group controls are maintained within the team activities and remediation activities are resolved swiftly

Accountable for the operational stability, integrity and availability of products and services supported by the team

Providing support the solution architect to ensure that solutions and services are supported by the right architectures & systems

Takes responsibility for investigative work to determine business requirements and specify effective business processes, through improvements in information systems, information management, practices, procedures, and organisation change

Selects, adopts and adapts appropriate business analysis methods, tools and techniques; selecting appropriately from predictive (plan-driven) approaches or adaptive (iterative/agile) approaches

Collaborates with stakeholders at all levels, in the conduct of investigations for strategy studies, business requirements specifications and feasibility studies

Prepares business cases which define potential benefits, options for achieving these benefits through development of new or changed processes, and associated business risks

The project is aimed at enhancing the conflicts management systems which enable HSBC maintain effective control of information procedures The role requires ability to analyse the user requirements and come up with an effective function solution to meet the requirements

Management & Leadership of Regulatory, Compliance & Operational Risk (Operational Risk / FIM requirements)

Demonstrate leadership on Regulatory & Compliance matters Maintain awareness of operational risk and minimize the likelihood of it occurring including its identification, assessment, mitigation and control, loss identification and reporting in accordance with section B12 of the Group Operations FIM

Observation of Internal Controls (Compliance Policy / FIM requirements)

Maintain and observe HSBC internal control standards, implement and observe Group Compliance Policy, including the timely implementation of recommendations made by internal/external auditors and external regulators Foster a compliance culture and implement Group Compliance Policy
