Advanced Analytics Consultant (Price and Promotion/Revenue management) - Oxford/Flexibility to work with UK

Role Objective Become a trusted advisor and subject matter on Pricing, Promotion and Assortment, driving growth and overall success for the clients business

Help your client grow their business by partnering with them to draw compelling insights from Nielsen data The Advanced Analytics Consultant will be curious, self-motivated and have a creative touch
Leverage statistical analysis to understand past trends and predict the future effect of marketing tactics on sales
Create concise and compelling presentations about brand, market, industry and category trends in response to your clients business needs W
Work with a cross-functional range of stakeholders to help our clients make smarter decisions when investing their marketing budget and ensure that the client is achieving
maximum benefit from their Nielsen investment
Partner with modelling teams to develop econometric models that incorporate numerous factors impacting sales performance (pricing, promotions, weather, seasonality, economic conditions, category trends, regulatory changes and competitive activities) to help isolate whats really driving consumers purchase decisions and identify the most effective strategies to achieve clients profitability objectives
Presenting often to senior client stakeholders, and interacting with a broad spectrum of client functions from marketing to finance
This role provides a platform to influence client strategy at the highest levels and demands strong commercial and analytical capability

Understanding Client Business and their Needs

Have a strong working knowledge of the client business priorities and the role we can play in supporting these goals (eg participating in business cycles such as brand planning & range reviews etc)
Build qualitative PnP (Price and Promotion), MPA (Matched-Panel Analysis), Assortman and other custom research projects following client briefing and needs
Devise strategies for Nielsen to support overall client objectives, including introducing specialist teams

Earning Client Trust and Building Relationships

Drive client satisfaction through the development of long lasting client relationships
First point of contact for the client relationship, accountable for managing expectations with regard to analytical deliverables on both a day to day and more strategic basis

Delivering Insight & Thought-Leadership

Build analytically-strong, story-driven visual presentations that clearly show how the client can grow using your expertise of the Nielsen product (Assortman, PnP, MPA, other custom analytics)
Be curious and engage with the client industry, their categories and key market trends
Proactively develop thought leadership to be shared both internally and externally with a view to addressing client business issues and promoting new thinking


Exceptionally strong analysis, insight generation and visualization skills, focusing on statistics, economics, and marketing research as an advantage
Mastery in Assortment modelling, Price & Promotion, Matched-Panel Analysis, and other custom analytics solutions
End-to-end ownership of project from set-up with both internal and external teams, data collection and specification, statistical and commercial model validation, analytical analysis, and presentation creation to the final debrief and consultation to the client
Ability to manage workload independently and effectively Prioritises client commitments alongside internal commitments
Familiar with other Nielsen practice areas and the business issues which they can support
Problem solving and solutions orientated
Engaging presenter
Capable of leveraging BI tools such as Power BI , Tableau
Ability to articulate technical information in a simple, impactful way
